CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION
In this chapter, the writer attempts to give a brief conclusion and
suggestion about teaching and learning to the fifth year students of SD N 3 Klaten
Based on the result of observation toward teaching and learning
process and interviews with the English teacher of the fifth year students, it is
shown that the students are more interested in the learning process and do not
get bored easily.
Based on the finding above, the writer tries to answer the problem
statement: “How is the process of teaching and learning English to the fifth
year students of SD N 3 Klaten in 2011?”
From the findings, the writer can answer as follows:
The process of the teaching and learning English to the fifth-year-
students of SD Negeri 3 Klaten is conducted from the preparation until the
evaluation. The English teacher of SD Negeri 3 Klaten always prepares the
lesson plan, material, and source of learning before she teaches in the class.
The teacher arranges the sequence of activities, starting from opening, main
and closing activities. The teacher uses pictures provided on student worksheet
in teaching English. In the closing activity, she uses evaluation to measure the
student’s understanding about the material.
Based on the finding of the research, the writer would like to give
the suggestion for the students and the English teacher.
1. For the students
a. Always practice English at school and at home.
b. Become more active and regular in learning English.
c. Ask their teacher if they have difficulties.
2. For English teacher
a. The English teacher should explain more about the materials.
b. The English teacher should give more exercise to the students.
c. The English teacher should give motivation to the students in studying
d. The English teacher should use syllabus in making lesson plan.
