                                          Job Opening
The German Embassy in Washington is seeking to fill a part-time, local-employee position
(30 hrs./week) at the German Information Center, starting February 1st , 2012 (for an initial period
of two years).

Duties and Responsibilities

   •   Respond to public inquiries
   •   Collaborate on the organization and preparation of conferences and other events on a
       largely independent basis
   •   Coordinate the distribution of information material
   •   Collaboratte on the creation and editing of graphics
   •   Develop and analyze statistics
   •   Maintain files and data bases

Qualifications and Requirements

   •   Native or near-native English-language skills
   •   Good German-language skills
   •   Excellent knowledge and experience with modern media and MS Office (Word, Excel,
       Access, PowerPoint etc.)
   •   Solid knowledge of web and graphic design software (e.g. Photoshop)
   •   Experience in maintaining data bases
   •   Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
   •   Organizational skills

The contract conditions are based on the Embassy’s standard employment agreement for
nondiplomatic staff at the German foreign missions in the United States.
