CONTENT (15)
     - uses humor to address the problem
     - clear focus
     - specific examples / details are included
     - message and point is clear to audience
     - addresses a real problem in society

ORGANIZATION (10)
    - problem is clearly explained / set up at the beginning of the satire
    - grabs the reader’s attention with a clear, effective introduction
    - transitions are used effectively so that ideas flow and work together
    - events in the body are in a logical order
    - clear conclusion

VOICE (5)
     -      uses colorful, interesting word choice throughout
     -      sentence structure is varied
     -      tone is appropriate without being insulting
     -      strong awareness of audience
     -      figures of speech and rhetoric are used effectively
            (verbal irony, hyperbole, euphemism, understatement, etc)

CONVENTIONS (5)
    - No more than 1-2 errors in sentence structure / agreement
    - Typed or neatly written in ink
    - double-spaced
    - MLA formatting
    - Demonstrates strong command of grade level conventions (spelling, punctuation, capitalization)
