The rebellion of Highlanders
1745 – Prince Bonnie landed to the Western Isle.
September – his father Jacob was proclaimed
the King of Scotland.
November – he led his men to Derby, England.
April 1746 – George, King of England, sent
a huge army against Highlanders. In a
terrible and bloody battle Prince Bonnie’s
men were defeated.

After the Rebellion
Prince Bonnie died somewhere in his beloved
mountains.
Highlanders were forbidden:
to have and carry weapons
to speak their native language – Gaelic
to wear national clothes – kilts and tartans
Scottish lands were being sold out by the English
Crown
Scottish people still
remember their hero:
The song of nowadays patriots
of Scotland is,
