JUNIORS & SENIORS:
In an effort to recruit more students for the UM College Ahead program, the
University of Montevallo is willing to offer more flexible course times. Don’t let this
opportunity pass! Speak with your counselor if you are interested. Remember,
GRC students are entitled to one tuition-free course.
Tennis players need to turn in their forms and spirit pack deposit to room 136
(Rodenberry/Montgomery) ASAP. If you haven’t picked up a cookie dough
fundraiser then you need to come by room 136 and pick one up today.

STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL TICKETS ON SALE
Tickets for the Fourth Annual Student Film Festival are on sale in the lunchroom.
Come out and see the 5-minute short films produced by the Broadcast
Production classes. There are about 20-25 films so there is a little something for
everyone! The film festival will be Monday at 6:30 in the auditorium. Tickets are
$3 in advance and $5 at the door.
SENIOR VIDEO PICTURES
It’s time to start bringing in pictures for the Senior Video. The first deadline will be
for baby pictures and elementary school pictures. The deadline will be December
16 (the Friday before Christmas holidays begin). Please mark pictures with your
name and 4th period teacher. You can also bring them in on a disc. Other than
the baby pictures, these should be group pictures that represent the class of
2012. Pictures can be turned in to a THS TV staff member or Room 315 during
1st, 4th or 7th period ONLY.
JUNIORS AND SENIORS
ON SALE NOW and through January 13th for $50. Juniors and Seniors enrolled
at Thompson High may purchase tickets from Miss Rinehart in room 217. Please
come before or after school.
Sophomores are allowed to begin taking classes online in the Spring for a dual
enrollment program at the University of Alabama!
If you are interested in taking online courses at the University of Alabama
to receive college credit, contact the university by visiting the website

Sign up to receive text messages on updated school events from your
Counselor, Mrs. Payne. Your English teachers have a hot pink laminated
instruction guide on how to receive her messages.
Also, leadership opportunities are coming up. If interested in finding more
information see Mrs. Payne regarding the HOBY Leadership Opportunity, the
Poetry and Poster Contest and the Leadership Academy Information. Mrs.
Payne is located in Student Services!!

1. Please remember to use your Publix cards when buying your holiday
groceries! The library media center will receive 1% of sales.
2. Please consider buying a book for the THS library for Christmas. There is

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS TEAM
If anyone is interested in participating on the Battle of the Books team, please
stop by the Library Media Center to check out a book. There are 6 books that
students must read between now and January 2012. There will be a brief
meeting after school in the Library Media Center on Wednesday, December 7th
for those students who are interested.

Student Services is going to start offering small groups during 7th period.
There will be slips and a box in Student Services for you to sign up or if you have
questions see your counselor. Groups will vary in duration depending on the
type. As we begin different groups we will update you with these choices.
