Modern Remote Sensing: Imagery, Capabilities, Possibilities. --Paul F. Hopkins
After a brief review of remote sensing in general, this presentation will introduce some of
the modern and emerging capabilities in remote sensing. The purpose of this introduction
will be to indicate the types of data and methodologies that might apply to the basic
themes of the workshop. The coverage of modern and emerging aspects of remote
sensing will include topics such as high spatial resolution imagery, hyperspectral
imagery, LIDAR, mainstream image processing software, and current research methods
such as neural networks, adaptive computing, and spatial modeling.
