About the Department
• We have approximately 60 full time
officer’s. Uniformed Officers patrol the
campus 24hrs, 365 days a year in marked
patrol vehicles, on mountain bikes, and
on foot patrol.
• The department consist of three canine
officers, investigations, crime prevention,
special events, records, fleet maintenance,
and command staff.
• Professionally trained and state certified
through an accredited police academy.
• Physical Address: (Bldg. #150) Located
off Libra Drive.

• 9-1-1 is for emergencies such as
crimes in progress, medical, and fire
• For non-emergencies (i.e. crimes

Blue Light Phones
• Blue lights are located throughout
campus and in each parking garage on
each level. Simply press the Emergency
phone button (no dialing is necessary) to
be connected to UCFPD dispatch
personnel.
• The “Blue Light” identifies the location
of an emergency telephone.
• Examples of emergency use would be
medical assistance, traffic crashes, fires,
suspicious persons, reporting a crime,
and especially not having a cell phone.

• Campus speed limits range from 10 mph to
35 mph.
• Moving violations in Orange County costs
$164.00 + three points on your license.
• Red light running is $262.00 + four points!!
• Use crosswalks when crossing the road.

or bike lanes. Use sidewalks where provided

threatening event on campus. There are currently 13
ways you will be notified:
• Cell Phone Text Messaging System.
• Outdoor Sirens (Giant Voice/Speaker Sirens) –
There are 4 outdoor sirens on campus. These sirens
will produce a tone followed by a voice message

What to look for in off campus
apartment security
• Check the door and window locks for adequate security. All
locks should be re-keyed.
• Lighting is a very important issue. How much light is around
the parking lot? Are the front doors and pathways lit?
• Are apartment numbers visible by day or night from the street?
• Is there nighttime security?
• Are the mailboxes secured? Look for previous signs of
intrusion. Is there graffiti?
• Is the complex fenced in? Do shrubs or trees block the
windows?
