Fossilized Amber Oil

an extraordinary base note and fixative for modern perfumery

F

inally, an authentic amber oil distilled from 35 million year old tree resin

is available to perfumers wishing to capture the mysterious and elusive

scent of amber in their creations. Eden Botanicals fully guarantees its

purity and authenticity and is the exclusive North American supplier for this

unique and extremely rare essence.

The aroma of this beautiful Fossilized Amber Oil is reminiscent of stepping

into an ancient temple deep in the largest mountain range of the world, where

incense has been burnt and prayers chanted in a timeless tradition. The

amber itself was once tree resin that has been transformed by time, heat

and pressure to create the fossilized resin that we know as amber. Found Before Distillation After Distillation

PRIMARY CONSTITUENTS

O ur Himalayan Fossilized Amber Oil is destructively distilled under heat and vacuum. Follow-

ing distillation, the oil is refined to remove any harsh or off-notes. The refinement process helps to

create a smooth and well-rounded smoky/ambery final product, that contains approximately 41% essential

oil components, including: carvacryl methyl ether, capaene, elemene, various sesuiterpenoids, muurolane-a,

dihydro-neoclovene, guaiene, amorpha-4,7-diene, calamanene, calamene, cadinene, cadalene, calacorene-a,

and hydroxycadalene isomer. The remainder of this unique oil is a mix of distillates, isomers and artifacts

from the pyrolized resin created during the distillation process and from the age of the resin itself. Although

these distillation “artifacts” were not found in the original tree resin, they provide for the extreme tenacity

and captivating scent of this unique and precious oil.
