So strictly reserving a designated learning, preparation and trading period with zero distractions is the answer for long term day trading success.
FOCUS AND SUCCEED More and more recently, I have personally found myself doing lots of different things relating to trading. Clearly one of those is writing here! So much is going on that I really have to be organized to ensure that my trading isn’t adversely affected. This got me thinking. If it can be like this at times for a guy who has learnt how to trade already, what’s it going to be like for someone just starting out? When I began my trading career, I had the advantage of not having any commitments as such and could totally focus on learning and executing. I know that this just isn’t the case for many. Anything can end up being a distraction if you don’t have a private office. From dealing with family stuff to having other non- trading related work, anything can and will eat into your trading time if you let it! If you have to learn and apply a complex trading system(in some cases, design one too), how much more challenging do you think it becomes when you have distractions constantly knocking you off course? So what’s the answer? Well I also know some of you will be thinking that this doesn’t apply to you right now. But hey, things change don’t they? So strictly reserving a designated learning, preparation and trading period with zero distractions is the answer. If you were studying for exams would it be a great idea to have lots of distractions flying around? No. Well when you trade, you sit an exam every single time you click your mouse and get filled. The market grades your ability and understanding of what is happening relative to your plan whenever you take a trade. So make sure you have studied hard! Focus and you will succeed(I hope ). Trade well.
