Fiction Story Structure
What I Know!
Fiction I know...... fiction stories are made-up stories about characters. made-up stories have a setting and a plot. Characters I know...... there are two types of characters, main and secondary. the main character is the person, animal, or thing the story is really about. the main character usually has a problem in the story. the main character's problem is the main problem of the story. secondary characters are all the other characters, except the main character in a fiction story. you can find out about characters by what they say, do, and think. (conversations, actions, thoughts) many times the main character goes through a change in the story, because of the main problem. Setting I know...... a story's setting is the time and place where it happens. that sometimes the setting and how it changes is very important to the characters and plot of a story. Plot
I know...... the plot has a beginning, middle, and end. the plot is made up of a problem and a solution. the main problem in a story is the main character's problem. the beginning of a story usually introduces the characters, setting, and main problem of the story. the middle of the story usually contains all the ways the characters try to overcome the problem. the solution to the problem usually happens in the ending.
