POSITION: Information Technology Specialist II Working Title : Web Developer/Application

QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: : A.A.S. in Information Technology Systems or a related technology
field or equivalent work experience in web development. Ability to write moderate to complex programs
using a variety of programming languages including Java, HTML, Oracle, C++, JavaScript, ASP, Microsoft
Access, and SQL. Ability to design, develop, and maintain moderate to complex databases. Proven ability to
work with different operating systems with a clear understanding of multitasking and threads. Strong
understanding of file directory structures. Ability to develop complex websites and troubleshoot moderate and
complex websites. Proven ability to work in a client-based and team-based environment. Excellent customer
service and communication skills (oral and written). Experience with Macromedia Dreamweaver,
Macromedia Fireworks, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat.
PREFERRED: Experience in VBScript, Website Layout, Cascading Style Sheets, Linux, IIS Web Server,
Web Methods, PeopleSoft, and Java Servlets, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Illustrator, Camtasia Studio,
Microsoft Word and Corel WordPerfect. Experience working in an education environment updating websites
for faculty, staff and students. Knowledge of developing websites to meet accessibility requirements.
Experience in developing user and procedure manuals.
DUTIES: Assists College Webmaster in web development duties to include: website maintenance, design,
programming, and deployment; analyzes the reliability and utilization of college websites; and applications
being used for web project completion.
Provides website support for college faculty, staff and students. Provides technical expertise to faculty, staff,
students, and interns who utilize the Instructional technology Center facilities to include: CD Duplication,
scanning, use of lab computer, use of the Student Information System, printing, and other needs of the user.
Develops moderate to complex programs utilizing a variety of programming languages including e-commerce
solutions. Works on special projects to advance the college website efforts to include: researching new web
methodologies, stays up to date with new innovative website development technology, software, and
techniques.
Performs other duties assigned.
SALARY: $35,695
STARTING DATE: March 24, 2004, or sooner.
