MANAGEMENT PRICIPLES (SMS #2) This course is designed to introduce supervisors to basic management principles. It presumes no formal training in management courses, but some experience in business or public organizations will facilitate understanding. Its purpose is three-fold: To present practical ideas and tools for practicing supervisors; to build a foundation of management concepts that will prepare supervisors for further experiences; to help each student develop a positive and constructive philosophy of management. Chapter Titles: Organizing the Organization; What Managers Do; Basics of Planning; Organizing and organization; Getting the Job Done; The Contemporary Organization. In the midst of a meeting for an upcoming special event, LARRY TOLSON was awarded the prestigious Unsung Hero Award. Larry is honored for his creativity, hard work, commitment and constant enthusiasm toward the NMA's Legacy project. This unique place for reflection is located next to City Hall for anyone to enjoy. Larry has generously shared his knowledge and expertise in several projects above and beyond his normal duties. More than all of this, Larry is recognized for his upbeat, positive, cheery, always in a good mood, and downright happy disposition that he joyfully shares with each and everyone of us - you can always count on a "Good Morning" or "Good Afternoon". His enthusiasm for his work, his many co-workers, family, friends, and a clear sunny day is appreciated by all who pass his way. We are pleased and honored to recognize LARRY TOLSON as an Unsung Hero!
