It’s that time of year, when you face the challenge of finding presents for

all your friends and family. But don’t worry! We’ve got your back Whether

you areinto personalization, customization, or creativity, making your

own gifts can add a personal touch. But homeade gifts can still be totally

cool conversation starters. Here are 5 Ideas to DIY

pUmpkin scrUb

I wanted to buy my sisters body scrubs (which they love)

but many of the nicer ones are $40 + per job. Not in my

budget. But I figured out that with a few simple ingre-

dients I could make my own that smells yummy, is all

natural and works great

Ingredients: 1 cup cooked or canned Pumpkin (puree)

1 cup of Brown Sugar ( Feel free to change the amount

of sugar. I like a lot of scrub so I added a lot plus some

white cane sugar to add to the texture.) 1 tablespoon of

almond oil (you can use olive oil or jojoba oil instead) 2

tablespoon ground coffee beans - 2 tablespoon cinnamon

Lemon juice squeezed from 1/2 lemon - Directions: Sim-

ply mix all the ingredients in a big bowl, then pour into a

jar and decorate. Pay special attention to the heels. You can store the solution in a glass jar in the fridge, for up to a

few days.

Each ingredient in the recipe is natural, and has its own purpose & function: Pumpkin is chock full of vitamins and

is a rich source of nutrients and antioxidants to help your skin achieve a healthy glow throughout the season. The

natural enzymes also exfoliate the skin. The alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA’s) and tiny granules contained in brown sugar

also make the scrub a great exfoliator. The almond oil works to soften the skin, hydrate the cuticles, and strengthen

the nails. The caffeine in coffee serves to improve the blood circulation (plus it smells divine). And finally, the

lemon works as a natural preservative.

TYGA

RISE OF THE NEW KING

by: James Andre Jefferson jr & Alexis Taylor

16 CELEBRITYHIGHMAG.COM DECEMBER 2011

ENTERTAINMENT

M

y mother would have a problem

with me bringing Tyga home …

tattooed from his neck to his

fingertips, stylish, flashy

jewelry and that swagerifically

laid-back vibe with the somewhat mischievous

grin? She’d say absolutely not. But despite his

bad boy exterior, Tyga’s personality has more

sides than a few that make you wonder whether

you’re looking at hip-hops next heir apparent, the

boy next door simply attempting to live his dream

or the next rising star among the ever evolving

new breed of artists which beyond music bring

diverse portfolios, extreme marketing savvy

and trend-inducing movements all strategized

to create the ultimate brand. The point being

that Tyga is hard to place in a box. You could

call him a Compton rapper, but his music often

seamlessly blends genres, with nods to emo rock,

pop and r&b. You could call him a party boy based

on tracks like “rack City” and “Lap Dance” but

then you’re hit with the emotionality of tracks

like “reminded” and “Far Away” featuring Chris

richardson from American Idol. You could write

him off as an inked up hip hop star that parties

in vegas (as my mother might) but then you find

out about Tyga’s 20+ city r.O.A.r. campaign to

encourage kids to stay in school, or his trip over

Thanksgiving to feed the homeless.

CELEBRITYHIGHMAG.COM DECEMBER 2011 17

ENTERTAINMENT

To say the very least Tyga is busy. His sophomore album “Careless World” (dropping December 20) has been long anticipated, with several

false alarms in the process but Tyga kept himself relevant with a slew of mixtapes since his debut “No Introduction” three years ago.

On top of that he has recently finished touring with Chris Brown, launched a clothing line, is signing new artists and even worked in a

grammy nomination (Deuces with Chris Brown and kevin McCall). We might need to add media-mogul to his list of descriptions pretty soon.

Considering his pedigree it seems entirely possible (maybe even probable). His cousin is gym Class Heroes front man Travis McCoy, he’s

friends with Chris Brown, his mentor is Lil Wayne, he has worked with just about everybody and he’s signed to Young Money, which these

days is seems to be almost guaranteed success.

I’m sure the literal legions of girls who would likely set their mothers on fire for a chance to be with Tyga means he’s not the least bit

worried about the disapproval of one like mine, but to those moms and even to those hip hop purists who might think that an artist like

Tyga somehow signals the death of hip hop; artists like Tyga are likely the future; Sophisticated creatures who merge being cool, with

doing good; being fun with being spiritual; being trendsetting with being business savvy and it’s time to jump on board. Tyga talks to

Celebrity High about the new album, emotions and the meaning of high school.
