The Pittsburgh Penguins Most Valuable Player is an
award given by the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National
Hockey League at the conclusion of every season to the
player or players deemed most valuable to the team. The
first winner, following the Penguins first season in the
league in 1968, was goaltender Les Binkley. Mario
Lemieux was voted team MVP 12 times, between 1985
and 2003. Jaromir Jagr has won the second most awards
with four. Jean Pronovost and Sidney Crosby won the Mark Recchi was the winner for the 1990–91 season.
