Federation of Texas A&M
University Mothers’ Clubs Newsletter
Volume 1, Issue 1 Well, we’ve had an interesting time since the April Federation meeting. I’m going to
start with an apology to my husband. At the Saturday meeting, Mary Cooper handed
me the ceremonial gavel and told me I was to gavel the meeting to a close. My brain
had been in over-drive all weekend with planning and preparation for the installation.
I walked up to the podium and announced “Meeting adjourned.” On our drive home
later that day an idea popped into my head. I turned to Joe and said, “Did you do the
Coming Home Benediction?” He said, “No, I was walking to the podium but you ended the meeting.”
So…. Here’s the prayer my husband wrote for me, at least it will be read.
to Aggieland Dear Lord,
Thank you for bringing us together today at Texas A&M. Thank you for our fellowship
and successful meetings and Boutique.
Please guide the Federation Board to lead the local Aggie Moms to be successful in
Contents their scholarship efforts and in promoting Texas A&M. Please help our children be
successful in their academic careers and be happy in their lives and future careers.
President’s Message 1 Amen.
Federation Dinner 1 Another interesting item was the resignation of Dr. Murano and the appointment of
Dr. Loftin. Aggie Moms are here to serve the University and the students. We can have
Help Wanted 2
feelings and opinions but they must be personal and not those of our beloved
Parliamentarian Message 2 organization. I wish both Dr. Murano and Dr. Loftin well during the coming year. Our
University can and will prosper.
