Our friends on Pahappahooey Island know the importance of the Creator’s Words. Here on the mainland, we struggle to understand them, too. We must all learn how to navigate through the Bible like Captain Hobbs navigates the Tootie Marie. The next two puzzles are designed to help your children grasp the order that the events in the Bible occur. On pages 2 and 3, you’ll find a collection of symbols and a map. This puzzle is for younger children. On page 4, you’ll find a word puzzle for older children.

“What About Me?!” wraps the importance of community “the body of Christ” because we each serve different roles. As wants us to do (Ephesians 2:10). This word puzzle is for children who are early to young readers. At the top of the page is a great verse about the value of working together. As your child solves each puzzle, they can fill in a word missing from the verse. The purpose of this puzzle is to help older children continue to learn the order of the books of the Bible.

least three.
Dribble a basketball 11 times in a steady rhythm. Speak the verse out loud emphasizing the bold syllables when the ball hits the floor or concrete. Don’t forget the dribble between the verse and the address. It’s marked by the word “boom”. Adding the word “boom” to your recitation can be extra fun. When you say all of the verse, take a shot at the basket. In the be-gin-ning God cre-at-ed the heav-ens and the earth. (boom) Gen-e-sis one one.
2.Mom or Dad: Tell a story about when you saw your child
use one of the special gifts. help others?
3. In your opinion, why are we supposed to use our gifts to 4.How do our gifts help others? 5.What is one way that you can use your special gifts—
child and parent together—to serve someone else this week?
Assemble an inexpensive 50-piece puzzle. Carefully turn the puzzle over so that picture side is facing down and the brown side is facing up. Ask your child to use large letters and carefully write the following verse on the blank side. A marker like a Sharpie® works best. Your child could even add a few pictures. Scramble up the puzzle pieces and put the puzzle together upside down. Once the puzzle is assembled, say the verse out loud. Repeat the process as often as you want. You’ll probably find your children assembling the puzzle themselves.
On Pahappahooey Island, our friends treasure the Creator’s Words. In “Hide it In Your Heart” Ali and Fernando lead a group to recover many , keys to the Lost City. When they meet with the elders, they hear about the most secure and most secret place to hide the keys—much better than Millard’s fannypack. That secure and secret place is your heart. Memorizing Bible passages is more difficult than eating Ravioli omelets This activity is designed to help you—and your child— memorize Scripture. Each verse has a suggested method to memorize the verse. These methods are intended to be laugh-creating, not tearinducing. Make this time special with your child next to you on the couch or in the car. Or better yet, pull him or her into your lap.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. –John 3:16

The next time the sky is clear at night, gather as many people as you can in the backyard. Bring a flashlight along for safety. Have everyone lie down shoulder-to-shoulder on the deck, patio, or grass so they can look up at the sky. Assign a word or words from the verse below. Then, turn off all the outside lights so it’s as dark as possible. Take turns saying the verse word by word. Whoever has the words “declare” and “announce” should shout them at the top of their lungs. Some will forget their words. Others will say their words out of sequence. Laugh and have fun with it. Say the verse over and over again until every one has memorized it. Then, all say it together (don’t forget to shout). Allow for interruptions to talk about the sky. Who knows? You might even see a shooting star.
Your children can also hide God’s Word in their hearts through everyday life. The familiar instructions to parents in Deuteronomy 6 say, “These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Take these instructions to heart in a fun way. Invite your children to talk about God’s word “when you lie down and when you get up” by creating a door hanger for their bedrooms.
