Saving Clip Art or pictures from the Internet
Create an image folder on your desktop or disk
Place mouse pointer over image
Click right mouse button
Scroll to “Save picture (image) as”
In Save as window, navigate to your image folder
You can change the file name to something you may remember
Click save
Note the URL (web address) of where you got the picture – you will have to cite your references
To insert your graphic or picture into a Word Document
Click to get your insertion point near where you want to place the picture in your document
Menu Bar>Insert>picture>from file
Navigate to your folder
Find your picture, select it, click on insert

To position the picture where you want it to go
Click on the picture with your mouse pointer to make the graphic handles appear (little squares
on corners)
Always resize your picture by using the corner graphic handles. (The top or side
handles will distort the picture).
Right click the mouse to get a pop-up menu
Scroll down to format picture
Click on Layout tab
The best is to use is “In front of text.” This will enable you to click and drag the picture
wherever you want it. However you may use any of the layout option available to wrap
your text around your image.
Click on OK

Editing your picture or clip art
Menu Bar>view>toolbars
Select “pictures”
Click on the picture you would like to edit
Insert picture, image control Set transparent color, reset
more contrast, less contrast text wrap, format picture
More brightness, less brightness Crop your picture, add a border
Click away from your picture when finished
