Patient Population: Family Medicine clinic so you may see kids to geriatric patients.
Clerkship Type: Ambulatory care
Facts about the clinic:
We have 4 physicians full time and 3 physicians part time
1 RN (also the clinic manager)
5 medical assistants
~12,000 clinic visits per year
We have 1 physician, 1 MA and 1 receptionist who are bilingual to serve our Spanish speaking
only population
Work with medical residents and medical students on rotations

Primary Activities:
Clinic activities may include but are not limited to:
Obtaining patient medication history
Assessing medication lists for drug-drug interactions
Counseling patients on medications and disease states
Evaluating patient labs and vitals data to assess need for change in drug therapy
Smoking cessation counseling
Answering drug information questions from patients and staff
Making drug therapy recommendations to physicians
Collaborate with physician to determine final therapeutic treatment for patients
Other activities may include:
Participate in therapeutic discussions, journal clubs and therapeutics debate with fellow
pharmacy students and clinical pharmacists
