The Eric Nord Award for Excellence in Community Leadership
Recognized as the top award given by Leadership Lorain County, The Eric Nord Award for Excellence in Community
Leadership recognizes a distinguished citizen and community leader who has given extraordinary amounts of time and
talent to the community and exemplifies service and civic support.
Nominees for this award are individuals who have acted with integrity, faith and confidence on behalf of the community,
as well as being a catalyst for creation of positive leadership in Lorain County, in the region, and beyond. The nominees
for this award are those who have exemplified outstanding service and civic leadership, and have been significantly
generous in giving of time and support.
Award Criteria:
Community leader acting with integrity, faith and confidence on behalf of the community.
Catalyst for positive leadership; demonstrates dedication to strengthening and transforming community
leadership.
Commitment to and involvement in Lorain County and the region
Exemplifies strong service and civic leadership; generous in gift of time and support to community needs

Awards for Excellence in Leadership
We also invite you to nominate area leaders and organizations for Leadership Lorain County’s Awards for Excellence in
Leadership. These individuals or organizations also exhibit creativity and ingenuity and models “best practices” within
respective areas of expertise. These individuals or organizations have demonstrated dedication to strengthening
communities in an effort to create a positive leadership environment, and have been committed to civic service in addition
to dedication to their fields.
Award Criteria:
Demonstrated significant accomplishments within their profession and volunteer commitments
Exhibited outstanding creativity, trusteeship, ethics, mentoring and dedication to continuing positive change in
Lorain County and/or the region
Has gone above and beyond to create new standards of excellence of service to the community
Committed to serving the community in addition to dedication to their own profession

Nominations for these prestigious awards are now being accepted until June 1. Please use the enclosed nomination
form, and return it to the Leadership Lorain County office as directed. Thank you for your help in recognizing our
outstanding local leaders. As Leadership Lorain County celebrates our 25th Silver Anniversary in 2009-2010, we will
particularly focus on alumni and alumni organizations who have made a difference in our community. Therefore,
we especially encourage you to think of alumni and alumni-related organizations for your 2010 nominations.
