                    Scope of FT-TG
(1)To review the PACT report on Final report of the Human
   interfaces in Multimedia network Era (2001-11-12,
   100AGS63, report to Firenze AGS ) project about what was
   the proposal and what had been done, what are the left over
   issues, changes in environment since proposed
(2)To review the Response to the PACT Report (2003-11-04,
   100AGS111, 112, report to London AGS) about what was
   the proposal and what had been done, what are the left over
   issues, changes in environment since proposed
(3)To ask contributions on the proposal on the possible future
   topics and/or strategy in the field of TC100 related area
(4) To discuss and formulate the possible proposal to TC100
(5) To report and discuss AGS on the possible strategy for the
   future work (at 2010-10 TC100 AGS)

       PACT report of “Human interfaces in
                  multimedia”

PACT/WG recommends that the IEC should:
1) Discuss the eight standardization items discussed later in this
     report at TC100 AGS.
2) Include especially the following two standardization items in its
     scope.
a) Standardization of ontology technologies
b) Standardization of media converting technologies
Out of 8 items;
(iii) Framework of describing attribute information to keep
     interoperability in the real world - Multi-lingual, Ontology

 Technology is on progress.

 (a) Technologies for connecting the real world
             with the cyber world

(i) ID providing technology
- Technology to distinguish information corresponding
    to the real world with other information that only
    exists in the cyber world.
 Some parts are in TC100/TA10 issue

- Technology to guarantee that the cyber world reflects
   the information in the real world

Recommendation 1: New TA on Human Interfaces for multimedia in the cyber world
PACT Taskforce Group (TG) recommends that TC100 should establish a new TA which includes the
     projects;
(1) Generic guideline for users manual, structure and terminology, navigation, wizards (100/AGS/63 text
     from (a))
(2) Standards for local presence detection (100/AGS/63 text from a(ii))
          Sensor network (JTC1)
          RFID (JTC1/SC31)
(3) Technical specifications for privacy protection and data security (100/AGS/63 text from c(v), d(viii))
           PT 62045-1, -2 Multimedia Security - Guideline for privacy protection of equipment and
            systems in use and disused - Part 1: General, Part 2: Receivers
(4) Standard on ontology vocabulary and semantics (100/AGS/63 text from b(iii))
          The work is in progress in W3C.
          SOA(Service Oriented Architecture) in ISO/IEC JTC 1
          Possible application in IEC/TC100 area.
(5) Technical report(s) on identification and classification of
resources (100/AGS/63 text from a(i), b(iv), c(vi))
(6) Standards for generic human interfaces for multiple networks in the
home (OSGi specification overview)

  Response to the PACT Report(AGS 111)

Recommendation 2: Liaisonship
PACT TG recommends that TC100 should take close liaisonship with the
    following groups to carry out the new TA activities:
- ISO/TC159
- W3C
- ZigBee Alliance
- OSGi

Recommendation 3: AGS and National Body activities
In order to realize and support the establishment of the new TA, PACT
    TG recommends that AGS should encourage the discussion of new
    technology, in particular, on Network Human Interface (NHI).
National bodies are requested to propose NPs for the issues (1) through
(7) in Recommendation 1. PACT TG is requested to propose the actual
    plan and structure of the new TA including the projects.
