SPORTSRADIO 610 WIP AND PHILADELPHIA PARKS & RECREATION
HOST “PLAY DAY” ON MONDAY, AUGUST 16TH

WHO: Sportsradio 610 WIP’s hosts along with professional athletes, coaches, dignitaries and
WHAT: Play Day is a free event and will celebrate the games of our youth that were played while
growing up in and around Philadelphia. Games featured will include team softball, a
HORSE competition, punt pass and kick, a homerun derby, soccer kick, speed pitch,
Half-court shot, hockey shot and much more. There will be separate competitions for
men and women and plenty of games for the kids. Partial proceeds benefit Philadelphia
Parks & Recreation. Play Day is being supported by PGW.
WIP’s Anthony Gargano and Glen Macnow will broadcast live from Play Day at FDR Park
from 10a-3p. Trophies and prizes will be awarded to participants at a Play Day post party
at Chickie’s and Pete’s, 1526 Packer Ave, South Philadelphia, PA 19145. Howard Eskin
and Ike Reese will broadcast live from the party from 3-7PM.
A special appearance by Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz will highlight the afternoon post
party at Chickie’s and Pete’s. Ruiz is scheduled to appear from 5-6PM courtesy of
Cintron Liquid Energy.

Celebrities and special guests scheduled to attend include Angelo Cataldi, Anthony Gargano, Glen

and other WIP personalities. Also appearing will be CBS 3’s Beasley Reece, Temple Basketball Head
Coach Fran Dunphy, Gary Cobb, Jon Runyan, the Phillie Phanatic, Phils PA announcer Dan Baker,
Eagles broadcaster Merrill Reese, Kyle Eckel, Sixers Announcers Marc Zumoff and Tom McGinnis,
