NOTE ON HOUSES: These are Natural Houses. Your Natal Chart will probably not start with Aries in the first house. Pay attention to which house your Zodiac (Astrological or Sun) Sign is in. This house is very important in your life.
6 EXAMPLE: If your Sun Sign is in your 6th House, health and service are emphasized in your life. NOTE: The Ascendant or Rising Sign is the sign on the horizon when you were born. In the Natal Chart, it is located at the top of the First House. NOTE: The North Node or True Node (of the Moon) can be in any house of your chart. It indicates your future opportunities for growth.

FOUR ELEMENTS
FIRE SIGNS have passion, energy, and enthusiasm. (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius) EARTH SIGNS have stability, practicality, and responsibility. (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) AIR SIGNS have intellect, communication, and ideas. (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius) WATER SIGNS have sensitivity, intuition, and emotion. (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces)

CARDINAL SIGNS are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. These signs are leaders, starters, independents. FIXED SIGNS are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. A SAMPLE CHART
Look in the 10th House. You will see the Sun in Pisces. This person in a water sign—sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate, flexible, and a communicator (Pisces= mutable sign). Also in the 10th House is Mercury in Pisces. Mercury rules communication and intellect. The 10th House concerns careers and goals, so this Pisces is probably a writer, speaker, lawyer, teacher, or in some communication career. Now look on the left side of the zodiac circle, in the middle. This is the top of the 1st House, Ascendant or Rising Sign. Notice it is in Gemini. Again, intellect and communication are emphasized. Gemini is in Uranus, a planet concerning humanitarian, revolutionary, and philosopher. This Pisces with a Gemini Ascendant is probably an excellent communicator, a risktaker, and a bit of a rebel
9 Notice the Moon in Cancer in the 3rd House, concerning communication and intellect. A Pisces with a Moon in Cancer is even more sensitive and emotional. All the other Houses, Planets, and Signs are important, too, but this is a “brief look.” Now you are more familiar with a Natal Chart and what it contains.
