The next meeting of the DSA Scotland Study Group will be hosted by the Centre for
Sustainable International Development (CSID) in the University of Aberdeen on
Friday 14th October 2011. Dr Hilary Homans has invited DSA Scotland to hold this
meeting in Aberdeen, will be acting as the main convenor of the meeting, and we are
now calling for offers of papers and presentations.
The meeting will start at about 11.00 am (refreshments will be available from about
10.30 am) with a programme based on an established format. The first session
(before lunch) will include presentations by established researchers in international
development studies, and the second session will mainly include presentations by
postgraduate research students relating to work in progress. A modest sandwich
lunch will be provided, and the meeting will close at about 4.30 pm.
Offers to make presentations based on recent research and writing by both
established development studies researchers and postgraduate research students
are invited. Please contact one (or all three) of the organisers (email addresses are
given below) with offers of presentations. Presentations should take no more than 15
to 20 minutes, allowing another 15 to 20 minutes for discussion.
Offers will be particularly welcome from researchers who have not contributed to
DSA Scotland meetings in the recent past.
Please get in touch with offers before September 8th 2011.
Further details – including travel information and a full programme – will be circulated
well before the meeting.
