1    Save this file onto your computer
2    Rename it to “EA Project [project name] [school term] ”,
                  eg: “EA Project Swanley Sharks Summer”
3    Enter the required date into the 'KPI Data' tab as follows:
4    Enter the project name into cell B4
5    Enter the number of sessions into cell B5
6    Enter the information about the total number of PARTICIPANTS. 'Participants' is
     defined as the number of young people who each attended at least one of the

     select 'unknown' for any unknown information rather than just not counting it. The
     information on how much sport the participants are currently doing is key so

     include extra-curricular sport. The target group for SU is those doing 1 day /
     hour of sport per week
8    Enter the information about the THROUGHPUT total. 'Throughput' is defined as
     the number of attendances from all young people across the whole block of
     sessions I.e. if a young person attends 6 out of 8 sessions, the throughput would
     be 6
 9   You only need to break this information down by gender
10   Enter the information about the RETAIN total. 'Retain' is defined as the number of
     young people that have attended at least 60% of the total number of sessions in a
     block. If you have run 9 or 10 sessions, please count all young people that
     attended 6 or more, if you have run 8 sessions please count all young people that
     attended 5 or more
11   You will need to break this information down by gender, age, activity, ethnicity and
     disability. This information should be taken from the registration forms. Please
     select 'unknown' for any unknown information rather than just not counting it. The
     information on how much sport the participants are currently doing is key so
     please collect this - this is how much sport / physical activity they are doing
     BEFORE starting the SU activity. It does not include any PE lessons but can

12   Review the KPI Data sheet to ensure that all figures and values have been
     summarised correctly, and use the data for self-assessment and to inform
     planning.
