Jennifer Kamph- Co-founder and Co-President of the NY Lady Cobras softball organization
established in 2005, Jennifer currently coaches the Lady Cobras 16U Showcase team.
Coach Kamph grew up in Ozone Park and is a graduate of St. Francis Preparatory High School in Fresh
Meadows where she was a 4-year letterman, starting at third base and short stop for the Terriers (1995-
1999) and serving as co-captain in her senior year. Jen was also a member of the NY Panthers (1997-
1998) and Eastside Bombers (1999) travel teams.
Jennifer continued her softball career playing Division I softball at Manhattan College as an infield utility
player. While at Manhattan, she served as co-captain her senior year. Coach Kamph was a four year
MAAC All-Academic team selection and received the Jasper Award in 2003. Jennifer graduated Spring
2003 with a dual degree in Marketing and Management. She was also a member of the 2002 and 2005
NYC softball team at the Empire State Games.
Jennifer’s coaching career began as a volunteer at the Ozone-Howard Little League in Ozone Park
(1996-2004) where she coached in the Minors, Majors and Seniors divisions as well as several summer
All-Star teams. In 2003 she also volunteered as a coach for the Hudson Valley Express 14U softball team
in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Since starting the Cobras, Jennifer has coached teams that have won several travel tournaments,
including: Union, NJ Summer Slam (10U, 2005), Hillsborough, NJ Hustle Tournament (14U, 2008), Cocoa
Beach, FL Memorial Tournament (14U, 2008), LAC Splash (14U, 2008), Triple Crown Uniondale Summer
Breeze Runner-up (14U, 2010), Fire & Ice Tournament (14U, 2010), Charlie Kearney Memorial
Tournament Runner-up (16U, 2010), and Halloween Havoc Showcase Runner-up (16U, 2010). In the
current season, Jennifer’s 16U showcase team has already won their first tournament – Island Fastpitch
Showcase at Baseball Heaven (16U, 2011).
In addition to coaching, Jennifer has been a softball instructor for the NY Mets Softball Academy as well
as pitching and hitting instructor at several batting facilities including SportSet (Rockville Centre), The
Cage (Middle Village), On-Deck Batting (Mineola), and Frozen Ropes (Garden City). She also serves as
a private instructor for both individual players as well as softball teams from the Forest Hills Little League
(2009 to present). Over the past 8 years with the Cobras Jennifer has also run several skills clinics and
softball camps for young athletes.
