Yazaki North America Launches Environmental Assessment Initiative to
                       Recognize Committed Suppliers

CANTON, Mich., August 19, 2009 – Yazaki North America, Inc. (Yazaki), a leading
supplier of vehicle power and data solutions to the automotive industry, has initiated a
supplier recognition program to encourage its supplier partners to focus on
environmental considerations as part of their production and product life cycle

The „Green Suppliers of the Year‟ program recognizes suppliers who have made
significant contributions to the preservation of the environment through their
manufacturing, production and delivery processes and have exceeded others in their
effort to reduce their impact on the environment. On August 19, 2009, Yazaki
recognized Tyco Electronics, PTI Engineered Plastics and Emhart Teknologies in a
luncheon and award ceremony hosted by George Perry, president and CEO of Yazaki
North America, and Olga Alavanou, vice president of Purchasing and Logistics at
Yazaki North America.

“At Yazaki, we continue to drive for a greener planet by expanding our environmental
scope to our supply base”, said Ken Pichla, senior manager of Commodity Purchasing.
“After piloting our Green Purchasing initiative and realizing positive results, we intend to
expand the scope for the new performance year to not only help our suppliers improve,
but to learn from them through the sharing of knowledge. We have established this
program as the benchmark for all Yazaki companies and affiliates throughout the
Americas region.”
