each completed revised section needs to be filled out. Ms. Grzywacz also noted that CD Plus
updates are encouraged for in-process changes.

The Program Liaison also visited the meeting and provided an overview of current activities
       relative to programs.

IV. REVIEW OF TC 10 SECTION MEETING

Chairman Mohs was unable to attend the Section Chair Breakfast meeting however the
following points were shared from attendees who did attend:
 It was noted that the TC-10.6 Handbook Chapter updates were all submitted on-time.
 Chairs were again encouraged to use the MBO (Manage by Objectives) methodology when
          conducting group activities.
 All Committees were encouraged to submit RTARs.
 Program sponsors were requested and encouraged for the upcoming meetings in Orlando
          and Albuquerque.

V. REVIEW COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP, ROLES, AND CONTACT INFORMATION

Chairman Mohs reviewed the roster and rollovers for next year.

It was noted that Professor Cleland will be asked to join TC 10.6 as an International Member.

VI. STANDARDS ACTIVITIES UPDATES (K Anderson)

      A. ARI Standard 1110-2006, Mechanical Transport Refrigeration Units
Martin Zuniga (AHRI) reported that a change in this standard is pending. An SI version
         (ARI 1111) will be added.

      B. Standard 26 (Marine Refrigeration)
The current Standard has been reviewed and the following items were identified as minor
updates required. A vote was then taken on re-affirmation, subject to these changes:

          1. The ASME 15.1 reference on Transmission Guarding has been superseded and is
now part of OSHA safety standards.
          2. The SOLAS reference is questionable and needs to be checked and updated as
                 appropriate.
          3. A number of minor editorial corrections.

Following this discussion a motion to approve the re-affirmation of this document with the
stated updates and miscellaneous editorial comments was raised. The motion to approve the
reaffirmation of the document with the stated updates was raised by Kent Anderson and
seconded by Pega Hrnjak . - Approved unanimously.

      C. Other Standards Activities

          M. Chasserot (Shecco) gave a brief update on the F-Gas regulations in the EU. HFC gas in
auto air-condition will require the phase-out starting in 2011. There has been meetings to
discuss extended the F-gas regulations to other industries. Specifically, transport
refrigeration has been identified for phase-out, though no regulations have been approved at
this time. Additionally, B. Mohs noted that the California Air Resource Board (CARB), is
looking to adopt similar F-Gas regulations (to the EU), and has specifically listed transport
refrigeration as a market to regulate.
VII. RESEARCH ACTIVITIES UPDATE (T Zhou – Not present)

Concerning the proposed RTAR submitted for Section review, Approaches to Evaluate
Efficiency for Trailer Refrigeration Units, it was noted that the current ARI Test standard
does not address efficiency. Suggestions to address this issue include:

         A. SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating).
         B. It was suggested that the RTAR be enhanced to include total life cycle leakage/ emissions
requirement as well. Life cycle emissions include projected lifetime leakage to the
environment. Pega noted that J2763 defines a means of measuring leakage rates as part of
            total energy efficiency issue.

Comments relative to this discussion should be conveyed to Zhao. Mark agreed to help with
         defining life cycle leakage requirements.

If requested, Hugh Henderson (Research Liaison) has offered to help with the RTAR approval
process. Deadlines for submitting RTARs: August 15 (for Fall Technology Weekend),
December 15 (for Winter Meeting), May 15 (for Annual Meeting)

VIII. PROGRAM UPDATE (B Mohs)

and expressed interest in participating in a seminar. The section is targeting one of the

Interested presenters should contact the Program Chair immediately. The seminar proposal
must be submitted by July 10th, 2009.
