Dear GEOS Language Corporation,
I would like to express my interest in the available Native English Teacher position. As
the world strides closer everyday toward becoming a global community, I increasingly
appreciate the value of language education. After numerous experiences abroad,
complimented by extensive personal research into history and culture, I know Japan is
where I would like to live.
From my extensive experience in Japan, coupled with the formal training in education I
received at college, I believe my strengths can harmonize well with the goals of the
GEOS Language Corporation. Having lived in the Tokyo prefecture for over five months
after this summer, I am accustomed to, and even prefer, life in Japanese society. The
challenges of adapting to a completely foreign culture and language appeal to my highly
motivated personality. I have studied this culture in depth in school, writing several
term papers and acing multiple courses about the history, geography, and culture of
East Asia. For a time at college, I majored in Social Studies Education and have had
significant instruction specifically dealing with becoming a qualified educator. From
classroom assisting to personal tutoring to a course dealing specifically with educational
psychology, I feel more than capable of effectively engaging students.
Thank you for reviewing my accompanying resume. I would relish the opportunity to
interact with you further about this position and the positive contributions I would offer
as a member of your organization. I am available for a personal meeting until late
August. Also feel free to reach me via e-mail and we could arrange a virtual meeting
through Skype. Again, I appreciate your consideration and hope to add my strength,
experience, and knowledge to the GEOS Language Corporation repertoire.
Sincerely,
Andrew Marston
