Young Adult Summer Eco-Training Opportunity May 31-June 12, 2008 – Heartland Center
here in Parkville and Highlands Camp in Colorado are hosting a training event for young adults
(18-25) interested in responding to God’s call to Care for Creation. You’ll learn from business
and activist leaders applying green technology, talk to theologians about God’s Call to be
Stewards, and participate in a project that leaves the host site “greener” than when you arrived.
You will also have an opportunity to share what you’ve learned with campers, pastors, business
leaders, and at Presbytery meetings. Come and put your passion into action to make God’s
world greener for all of us! A partnership between Heartland Center, the national PRC and
PCCCA, and our local Earthkeepers. Visit www.presbyterianconservationcorps.org for more
information and to apply. (Submitted by Brian Frick 4/3/08)

Technology in the Church,” which will be an overview of current trends and issues in the world
of technology, and how to support ministry in a digital age. The afternoon session will be a
tutorial on the “NACBA Salary Survey.” With Senator Grassley’s call for investigation of
excessive compensation in ministry, it’s vital that we have the necessary benchmarks in place in
our churches as we work with salary planning and leader compensation. Phill Martin, Deputy
CEO of the national NACBA office, will be presenting both sessions. Download the attached

Earth Day Sunday is April 20! The PC(USA) is suggesting a curriculum developed
by the National Council of Churches entitled Earth Day Sunday 2008: The Poverty of Global
Climate Change. It is easiest to go the www.PC(USA) website and then click on Earth Day
Sunday or Environmental Justice Ministries to download the information. It includes
background materials and a suggested liturgy. You may also go to www.nccecojustice.org and
log in for the same information. "Our call as people of faith — to protect the vulnerable and to
be stewards of God’s Earth — means we must act to stop global climate change. Because the
effects of global climate change are already impacting those who can least afford to deal with it,

JOYS AND CONCERNS
Dear Ones, How can I thank all of you for keeping me in your prayers and sending me such
uplifting greetings. A humble thank you to you all. I fill so full of grace when these prayers and
greetings arrive. Even more than that, I have had a really good week. No nausea, little pain,
and some energy. It means so much as I started treatments again this morning for the next two
weeks. Some really good news came in the CA 125 score (one indicator of cancer). Today its
was sixteen!!!! Normal is 0-35. When I was first diagnosed it was 747 and during the first
surgery and treatments never got below 154. It gives me hope and a much better sense of
feeling. I know your prayers have had much to do with my wholistic health and I want you all to
know how thankful I am for them. In Christ, Nancy Profit (Submitted 3/31/08)
