Homecoming/RAMpage
Weekend
greetings from It is with great enthusiasm and anticipation that I bring
greetings from the Southern Part of Heaven. The time has
come for us to create more Carolina memories. Fall and
chapel hill! football season are just around the corner. I hope you have
been keeping up with the reunion updates and encouraging
your Carolina friends to return for Homecoming/RAMpage
2009.
Whether you are a Black Pioneer or a recent graduate, we
have something for you. We have a full schedule of activities
that will allow you to enjoy Homecoming while “Celebrating
Who We Are” in true Tar Heel fashion. This year we have the
rare opportunity to reunite with old friends and classmates,
enjoy beautiful Chapel Hill and beat those Duke Blue Devils -
all in the same weekend. You don’t want to miss it. Here’s a
sample of the opportunities available during BAR:
• Encourage and network with current students - Partner
Lunch
• Support academic scholarships and honor outstanding
alumni – Light on the Hill Society Scholarship Awards
Banquet
• Meet and hear from alumni who created the legacy for
our black alumni – Black Pioneers Dinner
• Relax outdoors and enjoy the beauty of the area – golf
tournament
• ...and of course several great parties and much more
I’d like to thank our corporate sponsors for their support and
encourage alumni and friends to purchase an ad in the
souvenir journal or donate to the LOTH scholarship. Your
continued support of BAR and the GAA is much appreciated.
And as always, you can ease the economic strain. Join the
GAA today when you register and receive discounted ticket
prices for BAR events.
The BAR committee has planned the ultimate reunion experi-
ence. I hope to see you, your family and classmates at Home-
coming/RAMpage 2009. The fun starts now! Go Heels!
Stacie Blakeney Hewett ’89, Chair
2009 Black Alumni Reunion Committee
P.S. Happy anniversary to the class of 1989 classmates and
all other alumni celebrating milestone class years. I’m looking
forward to seeing you and all your friends on Friday night at
the Ultimate Throwback Party.
