The C.I.T. program introduces the counseling experience to 13 and 14 year olds with the hope that one day they can be recruited as members of our staff. This program provides your teen with an opportunity to learn and experience leadership and organizational skills. These will become an important part of your child’s developmental skills that they will use throughout their lives. Wells Camp C.I.T program is based on selection only. This is a 4 consecutive week minimum, 5 days a week program, no exceptions. 2009 Addition... WELLS SPRAY PARK !!! Wells Camp first opened its gates in 1988. We are and always have been – child centered and oriented. Today we are as eager to please our residents and friends as we were in 1988. Our goal is to provide a fun and rewarding summer in a safe and friendly atmosphere of athletic, recreational and cultural areas. We offer Wells campers a variety of well planned and action packed activities. Camper programs and schedules change daily. In addition, a new theme is introduced each week and most activities relate to the chosen theme, all tailored to fit the age interests of each child. Special events, guest entertainers and theme days are included in our activities calendar. Rainy days are not a problem – we have 5 indoor centers so the entire camp program continues. Our camp hours are from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Extended hours are available at an additional fee. The hours for early morning and after camp are 8:00am to 9:00am and 5:00pm to 6:00pm. This year, pre-packaged lunches will be available to choose from on our weekly menu. You will also be able to purchase camp tee shirts and sweatshirts on our registration form. A full time Nurse and fully equipped first aid station are located in the main office at camp. All campers are required to have a signed medical Information form on file at the camp’s Health Center. As required by the Putnam County Board of Health, we must also have a copy of your child’s immunization record, signed or stamped by his/her physician. This aquatic recreation system provides endless combinations of interactive play! The fun comes from the endless enjoyment of water as it is sprayed, gushed, dumped and poured from the play products. At Southeast Recreation Department’s Lakeview Manor Camp runs from July 6th through August 7th at one week intervals ~Flexible Schedule~ Monday—Friday 12:30 to 3:50 Rain or Shine $150 per week (plus materials) Air Conditioned Culture Camp How it works: On the opposite page is the schedule of workshops. Descriptions of these workshops is on the following pages. There are 4 workshops to choose from in each hour (ten minutes between is arranged for overlapping and/or setting up). Each week consists of 3 one-hour workshops. And each workshop is designed to run for one week. Within each week, campers choose from any one of the 4 workshops given in that hour time slot. (Example: Music Video, Hand-Made Pottery, Creative Jewelry) Campers can pick and choose weeks, but must remain for the entire week. Weeks do not have to be consecutive. (Make-ups are not possible) Note: We would like to encourage 13 and 14 years olds to join us in the workshops but also to consider earning community service hours by helping the instructors for only $25.00 per week. SPECIAL DELIVERY—LETTERS TO SANTA Santa loves reading all those wonderful letters written by children. That’s what makes Santa jolly! Santa wants to hear all about you. Most of all, don’t forget to tell Santa how good you’ve been all year! So, write to Santa at his workshop at the North Pole & Santa & his helpers will write back! Your letter from Santa will be mailed back to you. Remember, December is their busy season! All letters must be received by December 7th to give Santa & his helpers time to write back. COMMUNITY EYE SPY ELVES This years house judging will be done by you! We are asking all interested parties to drive around town & call the Recreation Department with the house you think should win. When you call, you will need the house & street number of the home you would like to enter. After we have received 5 calls per house, our elves will then award prizes to the top two houses.
