NURSE REGISTRY STATE REGULATION SET
CHANGES MADE TO SURVEY STANDARDS & GUIDELINES
Following is a summary of the changes that were made to the State Regulation Set for Nurse
Registries, effective August, 2008.
Survey Subject Change
G 105 Nurse Registry Modified the definition of staffing services to

reporting is no longer in this standard per AHCA
G 270 Certified Nursing Moved C.N.A. certificate requirement from G 277 to
Assistant (C.N.A.) this standard. No change in requirements.
G 271 C.N.A. & Home Health Adds 400.506(6)(a), F.S.. The sentence in the
Aide Adequately standard for 400.506(6)(a) was moved by the 2008
Trained Legislature from the definitions of C.N.A. and home
health aide in s.400.462, F.S. There is no change in
the wording or requirements from current law.
Moved evidence of completion of home health aide
training requirements from G 277 to this standard.
G 272 C.N.A. & Home Health Moved CPR requirement from G 277. No change in
Aide CPR requirements.
G 273 C.N.A. & HH Aide 2008 Legislature added to Nurse Registry state law
HIV Training that CNAs & HH Aides applying with the NR for
contracts have a one-time course in HIV/AIDS
G 280 Assisted Living 2008 Legislature added to state law that Nurse
Facilities & Other Registries cannot:
Provide staffing or services to residents in ALFs
without receiving fair market value
Provide nurses, CNAs, & other staff without
charge to ALFs, adult family care homes, and
adult day care centers in return for patient
Nurse registries must provide copies of contracts
with ALFs upon request.
The fines in the law are included in this standard.
G 281 Remuneration for 2008 Legislature added to state law that Nurse
Referrals Registries cannot give remuneration to:
A case manager, discharge planner, facility-
based staff member or 3rd vendor doing
discharge planning in return for referrals
A physician, the physician’s office staff or
immediate family if the nurse registry has
received any referrals within the last 12 months
from the physician or his/her office staff.
Other minor changes
G 152, 170, 175, 190, 200, 225, 290, 291, 294, Some sections of law were numbered –
295,296, 297 & 298 no changes in content
G 275 Changed the subject title for ease in
finding – no changes in content.
