matically machine-process your

To be scannable, the checks need to be printed with Magnetic Ink
Character Recognition (MICR) toner. This ink, specially-formulated with
iron oxide, is magnetic so that it can be read by scanners. Banks sort the
checks automatically by using the numeric information printed with MICR
ink at the bottom of checks.
Some people think that the Check 21 standards, enacted a few years ago,
mean that MICR ink is not required. Not true!
You can reduce the risk of your self-printed checks being rejected by
