Rules
1. This is a vocal contest, similar to American Idol.
2. Acts can perform acapella, or with accompaniment from either CD or by acoustic instrument.
3. All acts must prepare 2 songs to perform, one for the initial round, and another to perform in the event.

the contestant is selected for the final round.
4. All songs are to be no more than 5 minutes in duration.
5. Acts must submit a completed entry form and $20 entry fee by Mon Aug 24, 2009.
6. Acts not chosen to compete will have their entry fees returned.
7. Entrants under age 18 must have parents signature on entry form
8. Entrants using recorded music must get their CD to the show organizers before Mon. Aug 24, 2009.
9. No lewd or in appropriate acts are permitted; drunk or impaired contestants will be disqualified with no
refund.
10. The Laurel Youth Council, and/or its designated agents, have the right to make all decisions regarding
all aspects of the Laurel Music Festival Talent Show, including, but not limited to, choosing the performance
field, performance order, deeming material inappropriate, and disqualifying contestants.
11. Competition will be determined on a combined score from a panel of talent judges, and on audience bal-
lots.
