                      Meeting Minutes:

                      Meeting began at 10:15am. Lee Shipman of Shoalwater Bay Tribe led opening prayer.
                      Because Chair and Vice-chair were not present, Lee Shipman, as NWTEMC Secretary, served
                      as Chair of meeting.

                      Minutes reviewed and with no comments motion was made to adopt. Motion carried

         SAMISH       CERT Training

                      Lynda reported that the contract with Wa Dept. of Health was days away. The NWTEMC will
 SHOALWATER           receive $100,00 to conduct CERT training for tribes around the State of Washington, as well

                      as purchase and outfit CERT trailers to be placed regionally.

  SNOQUALMIE          The first Scheduled CERT Trainings are Sauk-Suiattle with Muckleshoot’s training starting
                      June 5, 6 and 7.
       SPOKANE

STILLAGUMISH          Potential Trainings include a class for coastal tribes: Makah, Hoh and Quilyute, the Skagit
   SWINOMISH
                      County Tribes (Samish, Swinomish and Upper Skagit), Colville Tribes, Yakama and a Train
                      the Trainer class at Tulalip.

                             Ex-officio status for partner agencies

                             Discussion continued on allowing ex-officio members on NWTEMC. Le and Del stated
                             that they should not have votting authority as it’s a tribal organization and all agreed.

                             Motion: Amend Charter and By-laws to allow non-voting ex-officio members on
                             NWTEMC.

                             Steve McLaughlin presented proposal to meet FY2008 IECGP deliverables. Proposal
                             will be reviewed with decision on contractors to made soon.

                             Jim Fernando has resigned as Tribal Rep for SIEC due to work load as Nooksack Police
                             Chief.

                             Motion: Elect Arlen Moses, of Yakama Nation as new Tribal SIEC representative.

  info@nwtemc.org     Shari gave an update on MRC. NACCHO is putting together a newsletter and will feature
                      NWTEMC MRC’s work including a short article and some photos.

                      Shari is resolving some issues Shoalwater Bay and Yakama had forming their MRC units. She
                      is also working with Snohomish MRC unit and may assist Tulalip in sharing/hiring Vista
                      worker for MRC program in that area.

                      The Region 1 Health care Coalition may also provide Region 1 Tribal MRC units with $20,000
                      in funding for training.

                      Lynda and Glenn will be traveling to Anchorage for RAC meeting. There will be a discussion

                      There are potential issues with holding in Idaho as WA State representatives may not be able

                                    location was good as it allowed tribal reps the opportunity to host and visit
                                    other Tribal Communities.

                                    that Tribal reps can get approval/travel requests in timely. NWTEMC will also
                                    send out Agendas earlier.

                      TJ Harmon asked that folks consider joining the IEMA and possible getting their CEM
                      accreditation. She can offer any assistance.
