             Top senior female athlete

            KATIE BASTIAN
         Volleyball, basketball, softball
College plans: Lock Haven University, majoring in Biology
Education
Career highlights: Five district championships: Two basketball
(freshman and sophomore year) and three volleyball (sophomore, jun-
ior and senior years), 2007 District 4 MVP for volleyball, 2007 All-
State Volleyball, NTL Female Senior Student Athlete of the Year.
Best athlete I played with: Tesia Kaczynski.
Best athlete I played against: Stephanie Miller, Towanda.
    Most memorable game/event I competed in: I can’t say that I
have one event in particular, but all of the district championships I
have competed in and won are all very memorable.
Most memorable game/event I ever saw: Kevin Hill hitting a
walk-off home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the District
4 championship for our baseball team in 2004.
Top wish on sports “bucket list”: I would like to run more and
maybe be successful in a 5k race.
Most embarrassing sports moment: All of the air balls I have
shot in basketball (which are many).
Toughest road venue: Wellsboro, because they are always com-
petitive and I would say are our biggest rival.
    Worst career injury: None
What I will miss most: I will miss being friends with my team-
mates and having many good times througout the season.
Favorite coach: I adore both my volleyball and basketball coach-
es. Mrs. Moshier, my volleyball coach, because she pushes me to do my
absolute best, is extremely knowledgeable of the game, and has the
competitive spirit that I love and respect. Mr. Dominick, my basketball
coach, because he works us hard, is competitive and loves the game,
but at the same time, he is our best friend and would do anything to
help any member on the team on and off the court.
Best advice received: From Mrs. Moshier saying, “It takes no tal-
ent to hustle” because I think that is really important for all athletes
to remember.
    Favorite college team: Penn State
Favorite athlete: My basketball coach Jason Dominick because he
and I compete in everything from playing cards to kickball to tennis.
Favorite teacher: Mr. Williams, my history teacher, because he
always is making students laugh and makes learning fun.
Favorite school subject: Biology and anatomy (science).
Favorite movie: A League of Their Own.
Favorite non-sports hobby: Fishing and Camping. CHERYL CLARKE/Sun-Gazette
