Anthony Alexander Pleads
Guilty to Manslaughter
20 Anthony Alexander plead guilty yesterday in the Gila County Superior
court for the July 26, 2009 murder of 40 year old Michael Amado.
During the hearing Alexander sat with a grin on face. Sometimes chuckling
to himself, showing no remorse.
Amado’s body was found in early in the morning by a man walking his dog
along the railroad tracks in Miami.
He had died from a single gunshot wound to head. Evidence showed in court
that Amado was shot from behind.
Alexander plead guilty to Manslaughter, a class 2 felony. He could serve
anywhere from 7 to 19 years for that crime.
As part the plea agreement he was ordered to pay the victims father, Authur
Amado, who suffered and economic loss is this case, $3,998.39. He was also
ordered to pay Gila County Victims’ Compensation $5,000. He is also
ordered to pay restitution to the Gila County court for the cost of prosecution
in the amount of $750.
In a separate case, he plead guilty to Criminal Damage, a class 5 felony. In
this case on May 2, 2008 Alexander vandalized with spay paint multiple
properties. In this case he was ordered to pay restitution for uneconomic loss
to the following people and entities:
$970 to Vera Nock,
$1,431.91 to Richard Malone,
$1,384.46 to Golda Pena,
$205. to Tri-City Fire
$127.54 to Gila County Engineering
as well as another 750.00 to the Gila County Court for the cost of
He is also ordered to pay restitution to Miami Police Department in the
amount of $5,600.
Anthony Alexander will be sentence on October 11th by Judge Duber.
