MOUNT EDEN
2001 Chardonnay (MacGregor Vyd) ......................................17.99
“Readers looking for loads of tropical fruit offered in an up-front, attractive
style should check out the medium to full-bodied 2001 Chardonnay
MacGregor Vineyard. Mount Eden does an impressive job delivering plenty of
fruit in a fresh, lively yet plump format. Enjoy it over the next 1-2 years.”

“A terrific example of a great California Chardonnay, the 2000 Chardonnay Estate emerges from a high altitude
mountain vineyard. It exhibits notes of honeysuckle and buttered tropical fruits (particularly pineapples and passion
fruit) interwoven with a striking minerality, good acidity, tremendous intensity, and impressive richness. The wine’s
acidity and structure have more in common with a top Burgundy grand cru than most California Chardonnays.
This is a brilliantly executed, full-throttle effort that builds incrementally in the mouth. It should drink well for a
decade (one of California’s longest lived Chardonnays).” Robert Parker, rated 94/100
RAMEY
“He showcases his talents best with his Burgundy-inspired Chardonnays, where he is able to make remarkably rich,
sophisticated and concentrated wines of uncommon finesse and elegance. Throughout a 20-plus year career, Ramey
has always made excellent wines. He has enjoyed notable successes at Matanzas Creek and Chalk Hill in Sonoma
County, and Dominus in Napa Valley, his last stop before joining Rudd Estate, the former Girard Winery in
Oakville, where the focus is on Bordeaux-style reds. When you drink his Chardonnays, though, it’s amazing to con-
sider how much flavor is captured, and how graceful and elegant the wines are.” Wine Spectator

“The 2001 (Rated 95/100, 1,500 case of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) may be the Le
Pin of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a lascivious powerful, smoky sexpot
of great fruit intensity, purity, and voluptuousness. The texture is unctuous, the fruit
level remarkable, and the wine gloriously pure, rich, and bursting with black currant
and sweet cherry fruit as well as nicely integrated, toasty French oak. It will drink

JEAN THEVENET, PROPRIETOR

“Thévenet crafts wines of unbelievable depth, complexity, and concentration…Thévenet is making highly acclaimed wines that are out of
the ordinary…far and away Clessé’s top producer…” Robert Parker
“The 2000’s remind me of 1990. They have that vintage’s depth, concentration, focus, and brightness. It is a great vintage, with high matu-
rity, some botrytis, and loads of fruit. The wines are ample, rich, and perfumed and may, in the long run, be even better than the 90s.”

2000 Domaine de la Bongran Macon Villages Cuvee Tradition .....................................................................................27.99
“Domaine de la Bongran’s Mâcon-Villages Cuvée Tradition has fulfilled all expectations. This outstanding, seductive offering explodes from the glass with poached
pears, honey, white pepper, spices, mint, and creamed minerals. A plush, broad, concentrated wine, it coats the taster’s palate with layers of sweetened herbal teas,
spices, pepper, and a myriad of white fruits. This well-focused beauty also reveals an exceptionally long, flavor-packed finish.” Robert Parker, rated 92/100

“Apples, honey-laden minerals, and a hint of roasted coffee bean can be detected in the nose of Emilian Gillet’s 2000 Mâcon-Villages. Bursting with spices, this light
to medium-bodied wine is lush, satin-textured, and crammed with flavorful fruit. Apples, pears, loads of spices and sweet minerals can be found in its deep charac-
ter. Projected maturity: now-2008. Originally reviewed from tank in The Wine Advocate’s issue #138 (rated 90-92)” Robert Parker, rated 89/100
New Releases!
DeLille 2002 Chaleur Estate Blanc: Dixième Anniversaire Label ..................................27.99
This is the richest and most powerful Chaleur Estate Blanc yet. Nice, pale, golden straw color. Aromas of ripe
citrus, apples, cream, toast cloves and straw. And there are lush flavors of citrus spice, mandarin orange and earth
tones. The wine has clean, fresh acidity, good structure and extended length.
Cellars 2001 D2: Dixième Anniversaire Label ..............................................................29.99
Dark purple color. Concentrated plum and blackberry aromas with black pepper and cassis. This wine is deep
and focused. More Cabernet flavors show through this year, producing a more extracted, longer-lived wine. Yet
the tannins are soft and Merlot-like. Nice lingering finish.
2001 Harrison Hill: Dixième Anniversaire Label..............................................44.99
As per the ‘01 vintage, this year’s Harrison Hill is riper, darker and more concentrated than usual. There still are
the wonderful layers of leather, black cherries and fresh herbs. However, there are more black fruits and currants
present. The oak is totally integrated, showing only whispers of oak spices and cigar box nuances. Lots of
Cabernet grip here. This wine is a keeper.
2001 Chaleur Estate: Dixième Anniversaire Label ............................................44.99
Inky, purple color. This is an extreme wine of unbelievable concentration, bursting with juicy flavors. There is
rich, black fruits, cigar box oak and violet aromas. The flavors are expansive both in length and breadth. Wow!!
The flavors include, but are not limited to exotic fruits, peppery Asian spice, leather, plums and a touch of choco-
late. There is grip and strength, yet a certain polish in the wine. Will do well in the cellar.
2001 Doyenne: Dixième Anniversaire Label .....................................................37.99
With glass staining black purple color, this year’s Syrah is jam packed with complex raspberry aromas and flavors.
There is some classic, smoky bacon fat in the nose, along with some floral violet and black pepper spice. Dense
and focused mouth-feel with great extract and youthful ripe tannins. This is a power house, long-lived wine.

the Bordeaux aristocracy. Their beloved second wine, Chateau Bahans Haut-Brion,
shares the same loving guidance of Jean Delmas, the Chateau’s superb oenologist and
wine director. Bahans Haut-Brion possesses all the characteristics of Chateau Haut-

The Magic of Musar
“Chateau Musar’s award-winning and distinctive wines made it through 20 years
of Lebanon’s civil war, and are now better than ever.” Andrew Jefford, Decanter
C
hateau Musar was established in 1930 by Gaston Hochar in an early 18th century castle at
Ghazir, on the slopes or Mt. Lebanon. He installed vats and oak casks in the cool base-
ments where the temperature is ideal for young wines. The capacity was enlarged by creat-
ing underground galleries, 15 meters deep. Carved into the mountainside, the galleries hold more
than a million bottles of maturing wines.
Serge Hocar learned winemaking at the University of Bordeaux under Professor Emile
Peynaud. In 1984 he was Decanter Magazine’s first-ever “Man of the Year.” Tasting through the
range of vintages is a revelation.

2001 Antiyal ..........................................................................................................32.99
175 cases imported
Chile “The talented Álvaro Espinoza makes Antiyal, a blend of Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon
and Syrah. Espinoza sources the fruit from a few different vineyards, including the lone
acre planted around his own house, and uses a small open-top fermenter that doubles as a
hot tub for his family in winter—a real ‘garage wine.’… Dreamy nose of cassis bush, dark
currant, lilac, tar and hot stones, with a plush, full-bodied palate that’s dripping with dark
fruit, meat and loam notes. Really suave, this picks up grip and muscle on the finish
where the fruit powers through. A distinct combination of varietal character and Chilean
terroir. Drink now through 2007.” Wine Spectator, rated 92/100

2001 Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon.......................................................18.99
“This wine goes from strength to strength, weaving black cherry and spice notes in a rich,
fleshy frame…Lovely fruit here—cassis, red currant and blackberry—with supple texture.
Yet there’s serious grip, with mineral, cocoa and toast notes as well, all framed by firm yet
well-integrated tannins. This should develop nicely. Drink now through 2006.” Wine

2001 Abadia Retuerta Rivola .........................................................................11.99
“This increasingly well-known Spanish producer, located just outside Ribera del Duero, has
fashioned two admirable 2001s…The dense ruby/purple-colored 2001 Rivola is a 10,000-case
cuvée of 60% Tempranillo and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 10 months in French and
France American oak, and bottled unfiltered. Amazingly concentrated, it could easily pass for a classi-
fied growth Bordeaux from a top vintage. Deep and rich, with copious quantities of black cur-
rants, licorice, new saddle leather, earth, spice box, and hints of smoke, this medium to full-
bodied, muscular red should drink well for 8-10 years. It is amazing stuff for the price.” Robert

2000 Flor de Pingus (Second wine of Pingus) ......................................................44.99

frame. It’s harmonious and complex, with a long mineral and spicy finish.” Wine Spectator
2000 Ramon Bilbao Tempranillo ............................................................................9.99
Red cherry intense and sparkling. To the nose it presents aromas of almond flowers mixed with very ripe dark
fruits. Also plums, preserved peaches and all this wrapped in clean and elegant woods. The vanilla and coconut
appears clearly in an ensemble of pleasant balsamic tones. In the mouth it is striking as it is tasted, leaving a per-
fumed and evocative sensation which reminds one of preserved fruits with tones of vanilla and chocolate from the
wood. The aftertaste is deep and spicy.

WILLIAM CHAMBERS
“These singular treasures from Australia should not be missed!”
Robert Parker
“William Chambers’s offerings, which are among the greatest fortified whites in the world, basically elicit the same comments as well as nearly
identical scores every year. I was simply going to write…blah, blah, blah, blah…but I thought that might not be sufficient for new readers who have
not seen my tasting notes in the past. The real values are the inexpensive Muscat and Muscadelle. The Muscadelle (Tokay) exhibits a light amber
color as well as a gorgeous fragrance, and plenty of honey and molasses characteristics in a full-bodied, unctuous style. The Muscat is even better,
offering a rose/amber color followed by notes of black tea. This sexy effort is the equivalent of liquid viagra. Full-bodied and opulent, these two
cuvées average 10 years in age.
The two “Grand” cuvées average 70 years in age. The dark amber-colored Grand Muscadelle (Tokay) possesses scents of caramel, toffee, figs, molasses, and black tea. The
Grand Muscat reveals more orange marmalade notes. It is an incredibly unctuous, sweet, thick wine, but, like its siblings, it is neither heavy nor cloying because of good under-
lying acidity.
The non-vintage rare Muscat and Rare Muscadelle are off any earthly chart in terms of richness and intensity. The major component in these fortifieds date from 1890. The
Rare Muscadelle (Tokay) is a thick, unctuous, brown sugar-imbued fruit bomb revealing notes of balsamic vinegar intermixed with a smorgasbord of heavenly delights includ-
ing caramel, melted toffee, maple syrup, and Asian spices. It must be tasted to be believed. The Rare Muscat may be even better, but the system stops at 100 points. It is equal-
ly rich, profound, concentrated, and unctuous, with explosive aromatic fireworks.

“It is easy to admire Mark Aubert’s talents. He was the architect behind many of the Peter Michael wines before he left that estate to take on the job as winemaker at
Colgin, where he continued his brilliant performances. Under his own label, he fashions around 800 cases of Ritchie Vineyard and 250 cases of Quarry Vineyard
Chardonnay, both of which are very Burgundian in style as well as impeccably high in quality. In 2003, an estate Chardonnay along with two Pinot Noirs also will be pro-
duced. All of these wines are sold via the winery’s mailing list.” Robert Parker

“Even bigger and richer, the 2002 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard exhibits terrific precision for such a massive white. It brilliantly soaks up its 100% new French oak aging as
the wood is only a subtle aromatic and flavor component. An opulent, full-throttle Chardonnay, it offers exotic notes of tropical fruit, orange rind, crushed rocks, and white
currants. With terrific freshness, impressive delineation for its size, and a spectacular finish of nearly 40 seconds, this superb Chardonnay will drink well for 2-3 years.”

Argentina’s top Cabernet and Malbec-based wines combine density and intensity of ripe fruit with Old

“In the ‘80s, Nicolás Catena set out to renovate the winery his grandfather founded in 1902. Inspired by
the successes of the Napa Valley, Catena invested in new winemaking technologies, bought land and planted
vineyards. He quickly became a key figure in the modernization of Mendoza’s wines, while Catena Zapata

JAPAN’Se
Finest Premium Saké
Hand-crafted by Small, Ancient,
Family-run Japanese Brewers
Saké, often called the “Drink of the Gods” by the Japanese, is a beverage created from rice, water, kiji, and yeast, usually with
an alcohol content of 15%-16%, just slightly higher than that of an average wine. Saké is brewed like a beer, but it is served and
enjoyed like a fine wine. Premium saké is usually served lightly chilled, while lower grades of saké are often served warm. The saké
we are talking about here is more specifically referred to as Junmai-shu or chilled, ultra-premium, pure rice saké—not the boiled,
cheap stuff that has (unfortunately) been served to Americans in small, ceramic carafes for decades.
When we tasted these saké for the first time, we were floored. These were glasses full of complex, aromatic, thought-provoking,
pleasure-inducing liquids. They are created from premium saké rice, water & koji, without using distilled alcohol or other additives,
and using a painstaking and laborious production process. These products will change the way people think about saké.
We have incredible respect and admiration for the results of these brewers’ efforts. While every one of these brewers has been
making saké for over 80 years (and one for 850 years), the category of pure, premium, chilled saké has only been produced in Japan
for the last 30 years. In terms of grade or quality, this category represents approximately the top 12% of all saké produced in Japan.
They are rare, and they are more expensive than saké produced in the U.S. or Japanese saké produced by the mega-breweries.
This is a first time that they have been available in the U.S.

BORDEAUX
VA LU E S
2000 Ch. Laplagnotte-Bellevue ..................................................................................................................................................22.99
“Showing far better out of bottle than it did from cask, the 2000 Laplagnotte-Bellevue exhibits a saturated dark ruby/purple color and a sexy, up-front nose of sweet jammy
cassis and currant with some espresso, vanilla, and white flowers. The wine is opulent, medium to full-bodied, yet at the same time, elegant and pure. This is impressive and
precocious. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2015.” Robert Parker
2000 Ch. Carsin .........................................................................................................................................................................14.99
“This is another Bordeaux fruit bomb, somewhat in the style of the Thébot that I am so high on. Readers looking for sexy, up-front, fruit-driven Bordeaux to drink early in
life, will enjoy this luscious, modern-styled offering. Consumption within 2-3 years is essential.” Robert Parker, rated 88/100
2000 Plaisance Cuvee Alix ..........................................................................................................................................................18.99
“The outstanding, dense, ruby/purple-colored 2000 Cuvée Alix offers notes of Crème de cassis intermixed with licorice, smoke, and vanilla, It is a serious, classified growth-
quality effort to enjoy over the next 5-10 years.” Robert Parker, rated 90/100
2000 Ch. La Closiere ..................................................................................................................................................................26.99
(Second wine of Clos Fortet)
“Second wine of Clos Fourtet. Plum, spice and chocolate on the nose. Full-bodied, with a solid core of ripe fruit and silky tannins. Medium to long finish. Serious wine. Best
after 2006.” Wine Spectator, rated 90/100
REININGER
“PLATINUM SPOTLIGHT: REININGER CAB
Owner/winemaker Chuck Reininger launched Reininger Winery in 1997 and gained acclaim almost immediately after the
wines were first released. He’s located in what he refers to as his ‘Shack-teau,’ a World War II-era building at the old Walla
Walla Airport and focuses strictly on reds: Cab., Merlot and Syrah. Because the Cab. and Syrah retail for $32, he’s affection-
ately known as ‘Thirty-Two-Buck Chuck.’ The wines would be a bargain at much higher prices, as they are some of
Washington’s most elegant and seductive bottlings.
The stylish 2000 Cab opens with black raspberry and vanilla aromas with underlying oak notes. Its charming flavors of dark
cherries, red currants and anise are backed up with beautiful structure that give way to a complex and lengthy finish. Pair
with beef or lamb. Won gold at the Dallas Morning News International Wine Competition and an ‘Outstanding’ in Wine
Press Northwest’s Fab Cab Judging.” Wine Press Northwest
2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley ........................................................................32.99
“Ripe, round and generous with its cedary blackberry and currant character, sliding in a smoky note or two. Tannins are sub-
dued, and the flavors linger with elegance. Drink now through 2010. 1,020 cases made.” Wine Spectator, rated 90/100
“It’s a fine expression of Walla Walla Cabernet, with dark spices and savory, earthy depths.” Wine & Spirits, rated 91/100
CHUCK REININGER
2000 Merlot Walla Walla Valley..........................................................................................29.99
“Ripe, round and supple, Plush in texture but surprisingly reserved in flavor, with the currant and berry fruit persisting nicely
on a refined finish. Drink now through 2008. 970 cases made.” Wine Spectator, rated 90/100

2000 Syrah Walla Walla Valley ............................................................................................32.99
“Fine in texture, with lively blackberry, pepper and pomegranate flavors emerging all in one piece, persisting through the fine-
grained tannins on the long, refined finish. Drink now through 2010. 419 cases made.” Wine Spectator, rated 92/100

Vintage 2002 Germany
POSITIVE INDICATIONS OF ANOTHER GREAT VINTAGE ARRIVING DAILY!
“Both 2001 and 2002 were stunning vintages for German Riesling- the first
clear and structured, the second beautifully ripe,” writes Joanna Simon,
Decanter
Official statistics just released by the German Wine Grower’s Association indicate nearly 10.2 million
hectoliters was harvested in 2002, just slightly higher than the average of the past ten years. The 2002
crop also nudged higher than 2001 in average ripeness (Oechsle levels) and acidity levels, and produced a greater
percentage of Germany’s highest quality category, Qualitätswein mit Prädikat.
First tastings of the 2002 are already very impressive. Those who have have already enjoyed the 2001 vintage wines, will find that
the benchmark has been maintained for the 2002, and although fixed costs continue to increase for the estates, with better yields in 2002,
prices for estate wines will generally remain stable.

BURGUNDY 2002:
a must-buy vintage
Decanter, John Stimpfig reports monthly on the news that matters to investors
“…So drinkers, collectors and investors will all have plenty to celebrate - if they can get hold of the wines
they desire. The best advice is, don’t delay. Buy Burgundy 2002 now.”
“Two thousand and two white Burgundy will go down as one of the most successful vintages of recent years.
Not only is quality high, it is also consistent. And it is consistent both geographically— from Santenay to
Corton — and hierarchically. There are delicious wines at the generic (Bourgogne Blanc) level as well as
among the grands crus. This is the sign of a fine vintage.” Clive Coates M.W. MICHAEL COLIN

Para Vintage Tawny Port
In 1878, Australian winemaker Benno Seppelt selected a 500 litre barrel of his finest port
from that years’ vintage to remain untouched for 100 years before being opened and released.
This tradition has continued every year since 1878. No other winery in the world has such a
rich collection.
The 1899 Vintage, the 21st in a series of 100-year-old ports, and the last of the nineteenth
century, is now in stock. This rare and historic vintage is truly a collector’s item, as only 250 bot-
tles of the 1899 vintage Para port will be available in North America. Each bottle is numbered
and signed by a member of the Seppelt family and comes with a certificate of authenticity in a
handcrafted presentation case.
The colour of the 1899 Para is a very deep brown, with a distinctive olive green edge char-
acteristic of century-old wines. The pungent, heady aromas suggest notes of coffee and toffee,
with a cedary oak influence. The full and rich palate shows hints of caramel, dried fruit, choco-
late and coffee all combined with a spirity volatile lift. The lingering flavors of toffee and
plum pudding make this wine an exceptional experience.

2002 WILLIAMS-SELYEM
PINOT NOIR RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY
“…Expansive, rich, full-bodied flavors…strikingly perfumed…this beautiful Pinot
will drink well for 5-6 years.” Robert Parker, rated 91/100
“Williams-Selyem has a near mythical reputation for their wines…When the history
of California wines is written, Williams-Selyem will hold an important place. Not
only was it one of the first wineries to exploit the potential of the Sonoma Coast and
Russian River, particularly with vineyard-designated Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but
this is the ultimate ‘garage’ winery.” Robert Parker
BOB CABRAL, WINEMAKER
“Winemaker Bob Cabral likes his 2001s, but feels 2002 was a superior vintage because of tremen-
dous ripeness and lower yields. The winemaking techniques at this estate are clearly Burgundian,
including the use of heavily toasted François Frères French oak (60% new), little racking, 5-day cold
soaks with inoculation to kick off fermentation, and bottling without fining or filtration…all things
considered, 2001 and 2002 are the finest back to back vintages I have tasted from Williams-Selyem.”

Rated 95/100, Wine Spectator
Rated 94+/100, Robert Parker
“Beautiful white Burgundy, incredibly ripe yet very pure and showing lovely mineral character. Some toasted oak, but mostly ripe pear, tropical
and lime notes. Full-bodied, it sings on the palate to a long, juicy and sweet finish. Drink now through 2012. 3,200 cases made.” Wine Spectator
“Shame on me! I vastly under-rated this estate’s 2000 Corton-Charlemagne in my barrel assessment a year ago (originally scored 88-90). The finest
wine I’ve ever tasted from this famed domaine, it reveals a rich nose of ripe pears, buttered hazelnuts, and minerals. Medium-bodied, lush, intense,
and satin-textured, it has exceptional balance, refinement, and a stupendously long finish. While it is not the most powerful Corton-Charlemagne,
it has superb focus, detail, and seamlessness. Toast, spices, pears, and ripe apples can be found
throughout its complex character. If this wine continues to
improve in the bottle as it did in the final months of éle-
vage, it will be completely mind-boggling.” Robert

“A gorgeous Carbonnieux, this is one of the finest dry whites Carbonnieux has recently produced. A light straw color accompanies enticing aromas of figs, lemon zest,
grapefruit, and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, with good acidity, loads of fruit and depth, and a long, concentrated finish, it should evolve beautifully for 15+ years. A
great value!” Robert Parker, rated 91/100
2001 Ch. Couhins Lurton .......................................................................................................................................................37.99
“A beautiful, pure 100% Sauvignon, the 2001 Couhins-Lurton offers opulent notes of grapefruit, honeysuckle, melons, and figs. It is a light to medium-bodied, well-
delineated, crisp white with a long finish. Anticipated maturity: now-2015.” Robert Parker, rated 91/100
2001 Ch. Malartic Lagraviere..................................................................................................................................................49.99

2001 Ch. Larrivet Haut Brion.................................................................................................................................................44.99
“An evocative perfume of smoked herbs, toast, honeyed melon, and citrus fruit jumps from the glass of this medium-bodied, elegant, tangy 2001. It possesses good acidi-
ty, excellent definition, and intense flavors. A beauty, it is the finest white Larrivet-Haut-Brion I have tasted. Anticipated maturity: now-2012.” Robert Parker, rated

2001 Ch. Pape Clement...........................................................................................................................................................99.99
“A blend of 45% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Semillon, and 10% Muscadelle, this elegant, medium-bodied white exhibits aromas of orange marmalade intertwined with hon-
eyed citrus, candle wax, and subtle notes of smoky oak. It possesses excellent flavors, good underlying acidity, impressive delineation, and a long, concentrated, fresh,
vibrant finish. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.” Robert Parker, rated 91/100
2001 Ch. Reignac ....................................................................................................................................................................39.99
“Undoubtedly the finest producer among the generic Bordeaux properties, Reignac’s 2001 Bordeaux Blanc a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Semillon, and 5%
Muscadelle, was made from tiny yields of only 21 hectoliters per hectare, aged on its lees for 8 months in 100% new oak, and bottled with as minimal clarification as
possible. This gorgeous effort will probably not be as long-lived as some of the great whites of Pessac-Léognan, but it will provide strong competition over the next 2-4
years…It is a knock-out dry white that demonstrates what is possible from a quality-conscious, highly motivated producer.” Robert Parker, rated 90-91/100
2001 Domaine de Chevalier ....................................................................................................................................................89.99
“One of the great white Domaine de Chevaliers, the loaded 2001 tastes like liquid stones intermixed with honeyed grapefruit, orange marmalade, and smoked herbs. It
boasts great intensity, a surprising amount of glycerin, and tremendous depth as well as persistence on the palate. It will undoubtedly close down and go into a backward
stage, but it looks to be a legendary Domaine de Chevalier. Anticipated maturity 2010 - 2040.” Robert Parker, rated 95/100

full-bodied, exceptionally concentrated, with great definition and zestiness, this impressive effort should have 20-25 years of longevity.” Robert Parker, rated 93/100
2001 Ch. Haut Brion ............................................................................................................................................................259.99
“This dense, full-bodied, concentrated, lively Haut-Brion Blanc exhibits aromas of honeyed citrus, flowers, smoke, and melon. It should age marvelously for three
decades.” Robert Parker, rated 93+/100
2001 Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux ..............................................................................................................................44.99
“Another wine well worth looking at is the exceptional 100% Sauvignon Blanc dry white made at Château Margaux. A beautiful white, it offers aromas and flavors of
honeysuckle, lemon butter, and tangerine in a medium to full-bodied, crisp, tangy style. I am not sure it is as good as the brilliant 1999, my favorite Pavillion Blanc over
the last decade or so, but it is top-flight stuff.” Robert Parker, rated 91/100
2001 Ch. Smith Haut Lafitte...................................................................................................................................................49.99
“A fabulous, complex perfume reveals scents of herbs, licorice, white peaches, honey, and citrus. This medium-bodied, gorgeously proportioned dry white Graves exhibits
flavors of figs, citrus, and white flowers. Beautifully textured, tremendously pure, and authoritatively flavored yet remarkably elegant, it can be drunk now and over the

LEROY
“…are unquestionably the most
consistently brilliant wines of Burgundy.”
Robert Parker
“…her wines are the product of a perfectionist and a vociferous defender of Burgundy. You simply
will never get a disappointing bottle of wine from Bize-Leroy. Her wines not only reflect their
appellations, but are Burgundy’s reference point.
…Most wines from the Domaine Leroy are capable of lasting 20-30 or more years in the
bottle, an unusually long time for modern-day red burgundy. In fact, I think it can be safely said
that these are today’s only Burgundy wines that possess such aging potential.” Robert Parker

Terms: ALL WINES ARE SOLD IN MISSOURI AND TITLE PASSES TO THE BUYER IN MISSOURI. We make no representation to the legal rights of anyone to ship or import alco-
holic beverages into any state outside of Missouri. The buyer is solely responsible for shipment of wines. By placing this order with your credit card, check or cash, you authorize Brown Derby
to act on your behalf in processing and shipping this order, including engaging a common carrier to deliver your order. WINES MAY BE SOLD AND DELIVERED ONLY TO PERSONS
WHO ARE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD AND IN PLACING YOUR ORDER, YOU REPRESENT TO US THAT YOU ARE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD AND THE PERSON TO WHOM
DELIVERY WILL BE MADE IS AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD. When your alcoholic beverages are delivered, the person receiving delivery will be required to show identification proving that
he or she is at least 21 years old. All sales are subject to applicable Missouri state and any city sales taxes. All wines listed in this catalog are subject to availability. However, fine wines are not
produced on a large scale. Many vintage wines are limited in availability and, when they go out of stock, are usually not replaceable. New vintages and other similar wines replace those that are
no longer available. All of our wines are stored in a climate-controlled environment, and we take great care in checking the condition of the wine we purchase. However, as is tradition in the
wine trade, all bottles over 10 years old, are at the buyer’s risk. Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, but in the event of a misprint, the price posted in the store will prevail.
Delivery: We use several ground carriers. For a normal ground shipment, allow 8 to 10 days to receive your order after it has been processed. Ground Rates are better for six or more cases
shipped to one location. Please inquire about rates for all shipments, as they are based on weight and delivery location. Affordable Second Day Air services and Next Day Air services are avail-
able anywhere in the continental U.S. We cannot ship to a Post Office Box. On all res-
idential deliveries, there will be a $2.00 upcharge. The purchaser is responsible for the
claim of damage or loss once the product leaves our premises. Note: Starting July 1st, PRSRT STD
2002 all purchases will automatically be charged 1% of the total purchase for insur- US POSTAGE
ance. Please be aware that claims are difficult due to the myriad of alcohol transport PAID

a quality control measure. Wine can be damaged by temperature extremes. We will not
ship if the temperature in our area is above 75 degrees or below 40 degrees. It is your
responsibility to advise us what temperatures are in your area. We cannot be held
responsible if you request shipment and the wines travel in a climate outside an accept-
able temperature range. We will hold and store wine purchases up to 30 days. After that
time a $3.00 per case per month charge will be automatically assessed. Any cancella-
tions are subject to a 10 percent restocking penalty. Occasionally, irreplaceable bottles
will be broken in shipment or somehow mishandled in the delivery system to us. In the
event any wines do not arrive, or are damaged in shipment to us, or are damaged by us
prior to shipment to you, we will make every effort to substitute, subject to your
approval, wines of equivalent value. Should we be unable to make an acceptable sub-
stitution, we will then refund your payment together with 5 percent simple interest.
