Self-evaluation form for sponsoring organisations

WELCOME TO YOUR SELF-EVALUATION FORM

The self-evaluation form (SEF) is intended to record the outcomes of your

own self-evaluation. As such, it should be an accurate document, with all

your conclusions fully supported by clear documentary evidence.

The Ofsted Accreditation team will make use of your SEF when carrying out

their visit on your organisation. All supporting evidence should be made

easily available to the Accreditation Team during their visit.

GUIDANCE ON COMPLETION

When to complete the form

The SEF is intended to help you record the outcomes of your own self-

evaluation Process.

 It should be completed prior to the accreditation process and should be

submitted as part of your initial application for accreditation approval

by Ofsted.

How to fill the form in

It is helpful if you first check the factual information and complete Parts A and

B. You should then complete Part C. This is because the information in Parts

A and B can then be drawn upon to help you complete Part C.

Parts A and B asks for factual information about your organisation. Please

make sure that this factual information is fully up to date.

Part C is laid out in sections that correspond broadly to the headings of the

Common Inspection Framework (CIF). The CIF will be used by Ofsted

inspectors to evaluate your organisation during their visit. Guidance on the

CIF for private education providers is included in the documents you will have

been sent as part of the initial information and application pack.

When completing Part C, you should summarise your main findings and

illustrate with the evidence which led to the conclusions you have made.

It is not intended that you should provide large amounts of statistical data

and descriptive detail. You should use evidence selectively to support the

main judgements about your performance.
