                     Clinician, LICSW (40 Hours) - Full Time
The Clinician reports directly to the Director of Behavioral Health. This clinician, with highest
licensure, is responsible for providing assessment and ongoing mental health treatment, with a
primary focus on the treatment of adolescents and adults. The Clinician is located in the
Obstetrics/Gynecology Department, taking referrals directly from medical providers, seeing
ongoing cases, leading groups, and meeting with other members of the Team. In this position,
referrals will come from OB/Gyn, Pediatrics, Adult Medicine and from Behavioral Health.
 Conducts a caseload of at least five direct service, billable hours per day, including
    individual and group therapy sessions and case consultations
 Provides an active presence in the OB Gyn, Pediatrics, and Behavioral Health Departments,
    with mental health treatment of adolescents and adults
 Intakes and screens both scheduled and immediate referrals from the medical providers
 Participates in required meetings, including weekly Behavioral Health Multidisciplinary
    Team Meeting, group supervision sessions, and Ob Gyn, Pediatrics, and Adult Medicine
    meetings
 Participates in onsite and outside trainings relevant to treatment issues in current caseload, for

              COMMUNITY CLINICIAN, LCSW
    Community Clinician, LCSW or LMHC (40 Hours) - Full Time
The Community Clinician, LCSW reports directly to the Director of Behavioral Health. This
licensed clinician is responsible for providing assessment, ongoing mental health and substance
abuse treatment at one to two local high schools and at the housing developments in which
Whittier has programming. The Community Clinician is part of the anti violence initiative shared
by Whittier Street Health Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the position will focus
strongly on prevention of violence in Roxbury’s young men between the ages of 15 and 25. A
strong connection to/ appreciation for the urban community is required.
 Conducts a caseload including individual therapy, family consultations and group treatment
    in an outreach capacity at Roxbury schools and community housing developments served by
    Whittier Street Health Center.
 Works closely with the project program coordinator, who helps each individual young man
    connect with job training and placement, housing, and school programs.
 Performs other duties as requested
 Demonstrates consumer-friendly, neighborhood -friendly approach to treatment, as measured
    by respectful interactions with clients and their families, low no show rate, high client
    satisfaction, and lack of client complaints regarding treatment.

    Program Coordinator – Project Me (40 Hours) - Full Time
The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Support Services. The Program
Coordinator works close with the Director in planning and implementing three HIV-related
interventions, including VOICES/VOCES, Community Promise and HIV Counseling, Testing
and Referral. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the
Community Health Workers associated with Project Me. The programmatic operations will be at
the Drop-In Center and at the Health Center. This position is responsible for the overall
coordination of this project targeting HIV prevention among men and women of color in
Roxbury, MA and neighboring communities.
 Program coordination of the implementation of the CDC grant including data collection,
    report writing, social marketing and collaborations building.
 Assists in recruitment and supervision of peer advocates and the implementation of
    Community Promise (DEBI)
 Assists in quality assurance processes and managing program data
 Provides onsite supervision to Community Health Workers and Peer Advocates
 Conducts HIV Counseling and Testing utilizing Oraquick Advanced HIV Rapid Test
 Links individuals to care and services based on their readiness and identified needs
Licensure/Education/Experience/Training:

                                 Dental Assistant
                                (40 HOURS) FULL TIME

The Dental Assistant reports directly to the Director of Dental Services. The Dental Assistant
provides chair side assistance to dentist, dental hygienists, and dental externs/students. The
Dental Assistant also performs various administrative tasks as designated by the Dental Office
Manager.
 Assists with patient management by seating and preparing patient for treatment, assists with
    patient comfort and anxiety reduction during treatment and prepares patients for dismissal
    following treatment.
 Prepares amalgams and adhesives and applies topical fluoride. Wraps and sterilizes
    instruments and cleans workstation between patients.
 Exposes and develops radiographs for dental diagnostic purposes.
 Instructs an individual in oral hygiene techniques and preventative procedures.
 Removes sutures, and applies topical anesthetic and desensitizing agents.
 Confirms patient appointments and recalls.
Licensure/Certification/Education/Training:
   High School Diploma or higher
   Completion of intensive training program leading to a certificate in dental assisting including

       Director of Human Resources (40 Hours) - Full Time
The Director of Human Resources reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Human Resources provides
leadership and coordination of the Health Center’s human resources functions. This position is
responsible for developing and implementing human resources strategy and programs in support
of the strategic plan and performance improvement initiatives. The Director of Human Resources
oversees and monitors the Joint Commission human resources standards and other accreditation
requirements.
   Develops, implements and monitors human resources goals and objectives to ensure
    alignment with the Health Center’s strategic plan and performance improvement
    goals.
   Monitors and evaluates the Health Centers culture and provides recommendations on
    changes to accomplish the Center’s goals and objectives.
   Generates a strategic recruitment plan.
   Creates a strategic training and organizational development plan that meets the
    professional and organizational needs of the Health Center and the employees.
   Directs the administration of benefit programs and evaluates and recommends
    improvements of benefit programs.
   Counsels and assists employees in resolution of work related problems and
    grievances, provides mediation and/or facilitation services between employees and
    between employees and managers.

                         Patient Care Service Representative

The Patient Care Service Representative reports directly to the Director of Clinical Operations.
The Patient Care Service Representative is responsible for ensuring that all registrations for
patients are created and updated in an accurate and timely manner, providing a high level of
exceptional customer service skill, and focusing on achieving quality standards and data integrity
measures.
 Answers telephone queue system and schedules appointments for all providers.
 Establishes provider schedule, calendar, and reviews scheduling on a weekly basis to
    minimize scheduling conflicts.
 Sends out weekly/annual reminders for appointments or call patients, as directed.
 Greets and directs all incoming/outgoing patients and provides information as appropriate.
 Verifies demographic and insurance information with patient and change as necessary on
    record and in computer.
 Prepares and processes encounter forms accurately and checkout paperwork accurately.
 Documents payments on encounter form; maintains original and completes other checkout
    paperwork as necessary.

       Director of Facilities (40 Hours) - Full Time
The Director of Facilities Management is the manager of Office of Facilities
Management (OFM) which provides maintenance and custodial services for the new,
state of the art, 79,900 sq ft, silver level LEED certified building scheduled to open in
January 2012. Also, serves as the point of contact for all tenant related facilities matters.
This person is responsible for the development and administration of maintenance,
backup plans, contingency plans, fire safety, security, transportation, and planning
design.

Maintenance & Operations:
Operates and maintains building systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning,
electric, and plumbing and carpentry services. Maintains the structural components of the
buildings such as walls, floors and roof.

Construction Services:
Provides planning, design and construction management services for both minor and
major renovation and construction projects.

Custodial Services:
Provides general housekeeping and cleaning for common areas, interior space, and
departmental space within the facilities. Ensures the cleanliness of the facilities at all
hours of operations. This includes regular and medical waste trash removal, floor
cleaning, dusting and lamp replacement. Also responsible for special services such as rug
shampooing, floor stripping and waxing, interior window washing and venetian blind
cleaning. Coordinates scheduling for all meeting spaces including the community
education room, board room, group rooms and all conference rooms. Custodial Services
also coordinates pest control and recycling programs.

Grounds:
Maintains the Health Center grounds. Lawns, shrubs and other plantings. Snow removal,
trash removal (outdoor), litter and leaf removal is done by this area.

Special Services:
Office relocation and equipment moving services will be provided within the Facilities
Department by Custodial Services or Grounds. If the job surpasses our in-house
capabilities, Facilities will arrange for a moving contractor.

Receiving:
Insures the prompt and reliable delivery of packages within the building either by the
carrier or by in-house staff.

Other duties:
Duties include management of daily operations and any on-going construction activity as
well as strategic development for following:
    Manage the activities of 4 facilities staff.
    Manage transportation services - 3 vans

        which serve as Security Officers.

Required Experience/Abilities/Competencies:
   Knowledge of procurement and inventory management

   Four to five (4 - 5) years experience in plant maintenance or construction
   Engineering background

              Major Gifts Officer (40 Hours) - Full Time
The Major Gifts Officer must have a proven track record, can work with a small but
energetic team to increase major gifts from individuals, corporations, and annual giving.
Reporting to the Director of Development, he/she will identify, develop, cultivate,
manage strategies, and solicit approximately 150 major prospects for the center’s major
gifts program.The Major Gifts Officer will be responsible for executing a focused fund
raising effort concentrating on identification, cultivation, and solicitation of top,
prospective, individual donors. In addition, this person assists the Director of
Development with the management of all Major Gifts committees and all key fundraising
and marketing activities.
     Delineate 150 + appropriate individual prospects and develop strategies for
      cultivation and solicitation of same yearly.
    Collaborate with the staff and/or consultants on strategies for foundations and
      corporations.
    Train and motivate volunteers to help with solicitations.
    Help volunteers identify and qualify key prospects.
    Work with the Director of Development and Director of Community Relations to
      execute an assertive cultivation/communications plan.
    Adhere to timelines and meet goals.
    Attend all relative cultivation events.
    Provides progress reports for the CEO, Director, Volunteers, and the Foundation
      Board.
    As appropriate, work with and manage campaign volunteer committees (and the
      Foundation Board).
    Devise and execute basic recognition/Stewardship activity for individual donors.

        Supervisor Of Arts Therapy (40 Hours) - Full Time
The Supervisor of Arts Therapy reports directly to the Director of Behavioral Health. This
position provides the leadership and coordination for all creative arts therapy programs and
services for Whittier Street Health Center. The Supervisor of Arts Therapy serves as a key
member of the primary care team(s) and coordinates all aspects of arts therapy services. The
Supervisor promotes creative arts therapy services for intergenerational patients, disabled
patients, mental health patients and other primary care patients. The Supervisor manages all cost
reimbursed contracts and all off site programs and services. This position works closely with the
Primary Care Team to provide clinical oversight and leadership, to promote flexible direct care
support; to continually assess agency community needs, to train and supervise staff and to ensure
that appropriate service models and modalities are developed. This position implements the
Center’s strategic plans for arts therapy, obtains grant funding and implements program
development. This position is responsible for a minimum of 20 hours a week of billable clinical
time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
   Supervises mentors and coaches Art Therapy program staff, which includes, regular and fee
    for service employees.

   Communicates clinical standards/practices and facilitates/monitors their implementation by
    all staff members to ensure optimum performance of all program functions.
   Oversees all aspects of arts therapy client care from outreach /intake through discharge. Also
    provides clinical support to the Director of Behavioral Health Services. This includes, but not
    limited to:
         o Establishing and maintaining daily Open Access Times as needed for the arts therapy
              program and as agreed upon with the Behavioral Health Department.
         o Assigning cases to art therapy clinicians based on availability, experience, client
              preference and need;
         o Ensuring that all cases seen comply with stated practice standards, funder
              requirements, state and federal laws, Joint Commission Standards and
              agency/department policies and procedures.
   In conjunction with Behavioral Health Peer/UR, ensures the timely completion of outcome
    based treatment plans and subsequent treatment plan reviews;
   Works closely with clinical staff and front end/billing staff to ensure that all clients seen have
    proper approvals in place prior to treatment sessions and the proper submission of all
    encounter documents
   Produces a minimum of 20 billable hours of service a week on average.
   Develops, implements and monitors annual budgets for each program or service in the Arts
    Therapy Department.
   Provides visionary leadership to move arts therapy outpatient services toward integration into
    Primary Care Services for targeted population;
   Serves as the “team leader” for Arts Therapy and in collaboration with the Primary Care
    Team, generates and promotes an integrated service system that supports quality client care
    and increases client volume.
   Participates in and coordinates the Peer/UR function as required by licensing and regulations;
   Participates in community and trade organizations and represents WSHC in selected
    community functions.

    Race Around Roxbury Coordinator (18 Hours) - Part Time
The Race Around Roxbury Coordinator reports directly to the Practice Administrator of
Pediatrics. The Race Around Roxbury Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day oversight of the
Race Around Roxbury afterschool program. Under the supervision of the Pediatric Practice
Administrator, the Coordinator provides direct supervision for the program daily. In addition, the
Coordinator collaborates with Community Relations, Development, Arts Therapy, and Nutrition
Staff to ensure that the content of the program is age appropriate, culturally competent, and
provides health education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
   Provides direct supervision of children ages 8 through 12 for 2 hours daily
   Prepares, in conjunction with the nutritionist, daily snack and administration of daily snack
   Serves as the contact person for parents during program hours
   Coordinates the physical activity programming
   Checks and documents measurement of height and weight for each participant once per
    month
   Collects intake and exit survey data for each participant

                                 REGISTERED NURSE
                            (40 HOURS) FULL TIME – 2 POSITIONS

The Registered Nurse reports directly to the Senior Registered Nurse. This position is
responsible for providing direct and indirect professional nursing care to patients. This position
provides continuity and quality care by ensuring accessibility of health care services offered and
provided within the department. The Registered Nurse works closely with other medical practice
staff and provides coverage when needed.
 Provides general and technical supervision of medical assistants and other ancillary staff in
     accordance with Health Center policies.
 Provides professional nursing care for the well being of patients.
 Takes patient's history and vital signs; cleans wounds and changes
     dressings; administers prescribed medication orally and by
     injection; and provides health teaching to patients and families
     related to clinical conditions.
  Triages patient telephone calls and walk-ins to identify need for
     urgent care and to make appropriate referrals required for the
     management of patient care.
 Obtains required specimens and performs or requests diagnostic
     laboratory tests; communicates results to provider. Ensures that
     physician and patient are notified of abnormal test results.
 Maintains patient records by charting nursing observations and
     actions taken. Ensures the confidentiality of patient records and promotes patient privacy.
 Performs or assigns various administrative duties such as maintaining stock levels of medical
     supplies as required.
 Arranges for the repair of maintenance of equipment used in the delivery of patient care and
     Ensures that patient care areas are kept clean and orderly.
 Provides or arranges for patient education. Instruct patients in the proper use of medical
     equipment, prescribed regimens and other nursing care regimens. May assume charge
     responsibilities as required.
 Maintains and enhances professional nursing skill and knowledge by attending continuing
     education programs. Fulfills Massachusetts requirements for continuing nursing education.

                                MEDICAL ASSISTANT
                         (40 HOURS) FULL TIME- 3 POSITIONS
This position reports directly to the Lead Medical Assistant and Senior Nurse. The medical
assistant provides clinical and specified non-clinical support to assist in the delivery of primary
health care and patient care management. The medical assistant works closely with the medical
practice team.
 Performs and documents assigned procedures, including but not limited to: vital signs,
    EKG’s, peak flow assessment and urine dipstick.
 Performs as a liaison between patients and providers.
 Prepares patients for exams and treatments, assists provider in medical procedures and
    treatments.
 Sets up and restocks exam rooms, maintains order and cleanliness of rooms.
 Communicates restocking needs to the Lead Medical Assistant.
 Maintains equipment in its proper working order, including cleaning and sterilizing of
    instruments.
 Maintains the strictest confidentiality.
 Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.

                           (40 HOUR) - FULL TIME
The Patient Billing Representative reports directly to the Supervisor of Patient Financial Services.
This position is responsible for timely and accurate patient and insurance billing, receivable,
coding and reporting of information for the practice. This position performs routine tasks, which

include follow-up on all outstanding balances for insurance companies and other third party
liability issues.
 Verifies patient demographic data.
 Participates in patient charge process.
 Responds to telephone inquiries from patients and third party carriers.
 Participates in EDI Submission process and prepares and sends any hard copy

 Transfers balances as needed to secondary carrier or patient.

                                   (40 HOURS) FULL TIME
This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources. This position provides skilled
administrative support for the daily operations of the Human Resources Department. This
position’s realm of responsibility includes every component of Human Resources Management,
i.e. Recruitment, Employment, Benefits, Staff Development, Performance Evaluation and HRIS
Administration. This position provides administrative support for the credentialing and
verification of licensure for medical and clinical employees.
Recruitment:
      Assembles and distributes application packets, maintains files, records and forms related
         to recruitment activities, request references from selected job applicants.
      Maintains and distributes Job Postings, New Hire and Termination Reports.
      Upon request, coordinates job fair participation, contacts various career centers and
         employment agencies, if needed.
Employment:
      Initiates the CORI background checks and the online license and certification
         verifications for applicable employees.
      Initiates and administers the credentialing application process for providers.
      Prepares and distributes employment offer letters and employment non-selection letters,
         upon instruction.
      Initiates, monitors and maintains the pre-employment physicals process and files for new
         employees.

    Monitors and revises credentialing forms as needed and ensures maintenance of medical
        staff and allied health staff files.
Training, Performance Evaluations and Employee Events:
    Assists with planning and orchestrating employee events including All Staff Quarterly
        Meetings, Employee Recognition Event, Diversity Luncheon, Summer Event and other
        events as assigned.
    Maintains training documentation system and processes tuition reimbursement requests
        and assists with training logistics.
    Processes 90 day reviews, annual performance appraisals and tracks, prepares and
        distributes late performance appraisal reports and notification
Administrative:
    Oversees all HRIS information data entries and reports.
    Oversees and maintains credentialing software program.
    Maintains personnel files and other confidential files; coordinates file reviews, audits,
        and inspections.
    Maintains employee Parking Program.
    Maintains Staff bulletin boards.
    Orders and maintains office supplies.
    Receives and screens telephone calls, responds to internal and external inquiries, greets
        department visitors.
    Performs other duties as requested.
Licensure/Education/Training
   Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree from an accredited college or university
