About the Role
We seek a few committed photographers to join our 20-strong team to assist with the
promotion and coverage of our world record silent disco event, enabling Free to Dance to
realise its significant potential as a high-profile fundraising initiative. The position is 16-32
flexible hours per week from 1st to 17th of October on a voluntary basis. The successful
candidates can join the Free to Dance team earlier than September if they wish. The position
would be ideal for students of photography or media, those seeking experience in the area or
those looking to expand into the third/charitable sector. The successful candidates will work
as part of our growing World Record Event team.
Free to Dance team volunteers work flexibly across the capital – either at our LearnBurma
address (Vauxhall/Oval), at home or at a number of public access venues, and all meet
together as a team once per week (Thursdays, 6.30-8.00pm at the Institute of Education,
WC1H 0AL).
Key Responsibilities
Covering and promoting the event in the most efficient way.
Editing and organising your own photos on site, to facilitate their display during the
event.
Uploading your photos to our facebook page to allow participants to tag themselves,
etc and share with friends
Making sure your work reflects the ethic, ideas and spirit of Free To Dance.
Supporting the World Record Team and working closely with the Technical Team.
Attending weekly team meetings
Keeping track of your own tasks, actions and progress, and reporting this to Ben
and the team

Person Specification
A self-starter with a professional outlook, who works well to deadlines and as part of
a busy team
A problem-solving approach to challenges and a outcomes-driven orientation
A good communicator, with great interpersonal skills.
Able to rapidly build relationships with a wide range of people
Sympathetic to the cause (Burma) and enthusiastic about our method (dance)
Proven track record/experience in covering successful events is desirable
