SALARY BASE:



FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT

GENERAL DEFFIINITION: To fulfill the requirements of an annual grant writing plan



SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Director of Development



SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:



Essential Job Function:

o Research foundations and corporations for funding

purposes

o Contact multiple foundations and funding sources for

application procedures

o Maintain funding source database

o Develop timeline for grant/funding deadlines

o Determine organization's funding needs and prepare

separate grant requests for various needs

o Prepare and submit grant requests

o Coordinate grant writing requests with Program Directors

and Executive Director and Director of Development

o Conduct on-going assessments of funders (foundations,

corporations, etc.)

o Attend staff meetings, supervisory conferences and

professional workshops

o Compile statistical and narrative reports

o Other duties as assigned



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



Education: Bachelor's Degree in related area



Experience: 2-4 years grant writing experience



Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills; self-motivated;

enthusiastic; capable of working well with a variety of

personalities; professional behavior; highly organized; proficient

in Microsoft Word, and compiling/managing
