WebGUI How To: Use the File Manager
Note: This assumes that you have already created a file manager on your site.
To upload an image to the file manager:
1. Log in. Turn admin on.
2. Make sure to resize your image before you add it. (See WebGUI How To: Resize
an Image.)
3. Click Images on the left hand menu to go to the Images File Manager page.
4. Click Add a new file.
5. Give your new file a name that will identify it.
6. Browse to upload the file from your computer.
7. Click Save.
To add an image from the file manager to your page:
1. Choose where you want your image to go. Add the appropriate wobject.
2. Go to the File Manager. Right click the name of the image file you want to use.
The image will open in a new window.
3. Click the URL in the address or location bar. Hold down the Ctrl + C keys to copy it.
4. Go back to your page and click the Edit bar on your wobject. Write your tag in the
Description box (or write it in a text editor like Notepad, then copy and paste it into
the Description box). Remember to use this format for your tag:
5. After src=, you will insert the location or URL of your image. You can leave out
http://carnegie.vcn.bc.ca and start with "/uploads….", because the file is also on the
Carnegie site. Paste the URL in after src= using the Ctrl + V keys.
6. To find out the dimensions of your image, go back to the open image window. Right
click the image and choose Properties. A dialogue box will open. Note the
dimensions in pixels and add them to your tag. Close the image window. Your tag
should look something like this example:
7. Click Save. Look at your image and make sure it's where you want it.
