Setup Instructions (870) 931-M34U
By using your M34U dial-up account, you agree to abide by the terms and service agreement.
Using the Setup CD-Rom
1. Insert CD-Rom
2. When menu loads select “Setup Wizard”
3. You computer may give an Active Content warning – Select “YES”
4. Select “RUN” on the File Download – Security Warning.
(Note: Depending on your security settings it may ask this question twice)
5. Read and Agree to the Terms of Service
6. Fill in the appropriate information and Click „OK‟ - This will setup you computer.
7. Click on the M34U.net icon on your desktop to connect to the Internet.
Windows 95/98 – Manual Dial-up Networking Setup
1. Open 'My Computer'
2. Open 'Dial-Up Networking'. . Your Local Number
3. Double-click on 'Make New Connection'.
4. Name the new connection 'M34U.NET'. Click 'Next'. ______-______-________
5. Enter the area code and phone number for our local system. Click 'Next'.
6. You have successfully created a new dial-up connection. Click 'Finish'.
7. Right-click on the new connection (M34U.NET) and choose properties.
8. Click on the tab labeled 'Server Types'.
9. Uncheck all the boxes except 'TCP/IP'. Click 'OK'.
10. Double-click the new connection (M34U.NET) and enter your user name and password.
Note: the user name is your entire primary email address. Both your user name and password will be lower case!
(Ex. johnd@m34u.net is the user name and the primary email address)
11. Check the 'Save password' box if you want Windows to remember your password for you.
12. Click 'Connect' to dial into the Internet.
Windows XP - Manual Dial Up Networking Setup
1. Left click on start menu
2. Left click "Control Panel"
3. Double click "Network Connections"
This will display the "Network Connections" screen
4. Left click "Create a new connection" (Located in top-left portion of the screen)
This will display the "New Connection Wizard"
5. Left click "Next"
6. Select "Connect to the Internet"
7. Left click "Next"
8. Select "Set up my connection manually"
9. Left click "Next"
10. Select "Connect using a dial-up modem"
11. Left click "Next"
12. Enter M34U.NET in the "ISP Name" box
13. Left click "Next"
14. Enter the area code and phone number for our local system. Click „Next‟
15. Left click "Next"
16. Enter your username in the "User Name" box (Ex. johnd@m34u.net is the user name and the primary email address)
17. Enter your password in the "Password" box (Both your user name and password will be lower case!)
18. Enter your password in the "Confirm Password" box
19. Verify that "Make this the default Internet connection" is selected
20. Left click "Next"
21. Select "Add shortcut to this connection to my desktop"
22. Left click "Finish"
Manual Email Account Setup
These are the settings that will be added to the email program that you choose to use.
Incoming Mail Server (POP3) is pop.m34u.net
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) is pop.m34u.net
The user name is your entire primary email address. Both your user name and password will be lower case!
(Ex. johnd@m34u.net is the user name and the primary email address)
