III. Announcements
PTIC – The Christmas event at the marketplace was a huge success. Over 500 people
attended. The PTIC used the Movie Gallery and pictures with Santa. There was Caroling and
Carriage Rides along with a lighting ceremony. To date the PTIC is on track to meet their
$90,000 goal for fundraising. There will be a Bingo night on Jan 23rd at the school next month
and they are also getting ready for the Father/Daughter Dance on Feb 13th.
Library update- has been tabled for March meeting in order for Peg to present an update after
the Board of Directors for the DC libraries has met.
Unified Calendar update- We are unable to add a unified calendar to the existing One Rox
website due to security issues with Douglas county who is the host site. The suggestion was
made that we review and look over options such as google docs to add an online calendar to
our site as a document. Suzanne is looking into the option and will get back in next meeting
how we can move forward.
IV. Old Business
Input from the Community – no new input from the community. Deb is going to review and
touch base with HOA’s in the community to see if we can give a summary of their meeting
minutes since we have yet to have them attend the One Rox meeting. The idea was presented
to possibly move the meeting to a later time (evening) as to better accommodate those unable
to attend during the day but it was decided that the first Thursday of the month is the best time
for all existing members and helps to keep those County employee’s participation.
The Elmwood fire update- a news Report went out updating the status of the fire and the
results of the investigation. The cause of the fire was determined to be due to a cigarette and
all questions regarding alcohol or drugs were ruled out. The Boy that was burned in the fire is
doing extremely well and is working towards recovery.
County Update-Steve B
o Southbound Roxbrough EEE access road alignment is moving forward based on the
2030 Transportation plan of the county. Discussions and agreements have been made
with Roxborough Park. The Road will be going directly through a portion of the park
and will Drop down into Rainbow springs. The benefits and cost impact is still being
1
evaluated by the county and they will be scheduling meetings with the community in
the future. This will be an Emergency access road and will not be paved. There was
some emenant domain questions with some of the land owners but they have now all
come to an agreement. Please see the county website for more information.
o Roxborough Rec center capital acquisition options
Resource guide is nearly complete and the addition to the website will happen in March or
April.
V. New Business
Chatfield Reservoir Storage reallocation study- The Chatfield reservoir and US Army Corp of
engineers is reviewing options to expand the purpose for the reservoir to sore water. The
concept is to re-designate storage space that is currently reserved for flood control to space for
Joint flood control and conservation purposes. They are evaluating potential impats and
mitigation and are taking public participation through the website: www.chatfieldstudy.org.
Larry will keep us up to date on the study and the process as it proceeds.
Skate Park- The Roxborough Village Metro district is starting construction on a skate park at
the park. The location will be next to the Tennis courts right along the road. The design is
from a national recognized skate park company and the project should be completed Fall of
2009. The ground breaking will be taking place spring of 2009. The Village metro district is
working on getting signs and information up to excite the community. The suggestion was
made that we have a member of the HOA bring a copy of the plans and designs to future
meeting.
