Magazine Cover Page Project
You are to design a magazine cover page. It could be similar to magazine cover
page that already exists however; do not copy it exactly. Before you begin the
project, search images of existing magazine cover pages to identify similarities
and differences between them. The following information needs to be identified
before you begin the project:
o Magazine Theme
o Magazine Title
o Subtitle (identifying the goal of the monthly subscription based on
your theme).
o Story titles included in the magazine (at least three story titles on you
cover that get the readers attention and motivate them to read your
magazine.
o Date (month and year) of the subscription.
o Background picture(s) identifying the theme of the magazine (for
example; a baseball star on the cover of a sports magazine).
The background pictures could be pictures that you have taken
or pictures obtained from searching images on the internet
o UPC symbol (obtain using search engine).
Note: The information above should be placed in the form provided by the
teacher. The form can be obtained by double clicking the file on the web page.
Go to Projects and Activities on the NCMS TEAM UNITY web page and double
click the file called “Cover Page” in the box called “Magazine Cover Page
Project”.
You may include a photo or photos you have taken along with images
from the Internet. To start the project you will be using a program called
Photofiltre (loaded on your computer) and you will learn how to use it in class.
You will use the following specifications for your magazine cover page.
o Width is 8.5 inches
o Height is 11 inches
