Once booking confirmations have been received kindly note the following:

1. Pre-stacking / After-stacking and passing of Container Terminal Orders (CTO)
When passing Container Terminal Orders please endorse hazardous cargoes with the specific related IMCO
class and UN numbers. A Hazardous Cargo Declaration needs to accompany the Container Terminal Order
when passing.
Failure to comply will result in rejection of CTO document.
Kindly forward a Pre-stack / After-stack Application for approval by ASL.
Once the document has been approved and stamped by ASL, please forward your request for pre- stack/after-
stack to Transnet or FPT, for approval.
 For Combi-Terminal, applications need to be sent electronically to Derek Berry of Transnet for approval at
     e-mail derek.berry@transnet.net
 And for Fresh Produce Terminal, applications need to be sent electronically to Peka Van Dyk for approval
     at e-mail peka_van_dyk@fpt.co.za
It remains the Shipper / Agents responsibility to obtain the authorization for the pre-stack/after-stack from the
Port.

2. Opening of Stack
Please try to utilise the first stack days for loading of general cargo, as the last day of stack is preferred for
loading of perishable cargoes only.
 Combi Terminal hours on weekdays are 0600hrs to 2200hrs,
* JHB stacks dates close 72 hours prior to CPT stacks
 Fresh Produce Terminal hours on weekdays are 0630hrs to 2200hrs

Please ensure that all CTO’s are endorsed correctly.
Also ensure that all CTO’s/ transshipping orders are presented to us for endorsing, and are passed timeously,
in-order to avoid any problems regarding placing / delivery of containers for loading.

3. Carrier Haulage
Should you require carrier haulage, please provide us with the Cartage Instructions, no later than 11h00 the day
prior to loading.
For carrier haulage of dangerous goods, please forward Hazardous Declaration with the Cartage Instruction;
and a PPECB Export Notification (Q67) for carrier haulage of reefer containers.
    i. Where Meihuizen Freight incurs a futile trip as the result of a Consignee / Consignor or Container Depot
         being unable to accept / release a container for whatever reason Meihuizen Freight will raise a additional
         transport charge equivalent to the applicable rate.
    ii. Late instructions will be accepted in consideration that it will be treated entirely on shippers risk basis.
    iii. Should we have a backlog of delivery instructions and we would like to assure you that we spare
         no efforts to accommodate and meet the required placing/collection specifications.

    In respect of the above (i, ii, iii) critical situations, Meihuizen Freight will not be able to accept responsibility
    and /or additional charges that will be incurred if containers can not be placed / collected on time or if
    inspections are aborted.

4. Weighing of Containers & Weight Restrictions
Notice of weighing of containers for Blue Sky & any other ASL chartered Vessels
All containers to be weighed before going into stack for the account of shippers, at Portnet weigh bridge or FPT
weigh bridge, according to the berth vessel will call.

*** PLS note all containers are to be weighed at either Combi Terminal or Fresh Produce Terminal or alternative
weighbridge arranged by Meihuizen freight (PTY) ltd. To establish gross weight for loading, this is for the
account of the shippers ***Transnet tariff is R114.00 per unit ex vat.

Weigh bridge charges will be charged per container on the statement of charges.
Please advise your transporters / cartage facilitators accordingly.

Weight restrictions - weight restrictions at the Ports of Cabinda and Malongo are enforced at 20 metric tons-
gross weight per container, failure to comply to this weight restriction will be at shippers own risk and cost at
Malongo
NB: ATS number required for booking of all Malongo cargo.

In the interest of safety with regard to container weight limitations and taking into consideration the
handling of containers by various third parties, we kindly request that you adhere to the following
guidelines;

12m Container should not exceed Gross Weight of 30 tons. This means your Cargo Net Weight must not
exceed 26 tons.

6m Containers should not exceed gross weight of 24 tons. This means your cargo net weight must not exceed
21.6 tons.

This applies to the various types of containers refrigerated, tank containers, flatrack etc.

ASL loads in accordance to ISO standard 688.

We kindly request that you adhere to the abovementioned guidelines on container weight limitations, failing to
do so may result in your cargo being short shipped.

5. Delivering of Break Bulk
Delivery of Break Bulk Cargoes to Cape Town Port - kindly advise Gary Manuel, of our office, 24 hours prior to
delivery of any Break Bulk Cargoes to Cape Town Port, in order for arrangements to be made with Transnet or
FPT.

6. Submission of Shipping Orders
Shipping Orders are required to be endorsed with an address; marks and numbers and not with wording "as
addressed" and also to be signed off as a mates receipt.
If there is no shipping order the cargo will not be loaded onto the vessel as per instructions issued by Transnet
and FPT.
We would kindly request that shippers / suppliers / agents ensure that all shipping orders are passed timeously,
and that break-bulk cargoes are correctly and adequately marked with reference numbers to avoid having their
cargoes short-shipped.

7. Hazardous Declarations
Please complete the Electronic Meihuizen Hazardous Declaration and forward to our office via electronic mail,
upon completion. Ensure that correct weight and measurement are endorsed on the Hazardous Declaration to
avoid short-shipment of cargo.

8. Shipping / Bill Of Lading Instructions
Please complete the Electronic ASL Bill of Lading Instruction and forward the Instruction(s) to our office via
electronic mail, for capturing of Bills.
Please note that all Bill of Lading Instructions should be presented to ASL the day after stack closes - day 2 will
result in penalties. If stacks closes on a Friday and the vessel is sailing over a weekend, Shipping Instructions to
be presented on the last day of stack to ensure that the Manifest are placed on board prior to vessel sailing.
Please feel free to contact our office should you require a copy of the template.

Once the bill of lading has been captured in our system a draft bill of lading will be resent for your approval

Kindly check bill/s of lading thoroughly and revert within 4 hours after we have dispatched, *failing to advise
will be deemed correct and all charges relating to corrections will be for the shippers account.

Please forward packing declarations for all containerised cargoes as this a requirement by the Angolan
authorities.
Break-bulk to clearing labelled with consignee details, address and booking reference.

9. Release of Original Bill of Ladings
Please produce the following on release of bill(s) of lading.
    iv. SAD 500 and SARS Release Notification
 Stamped Cargo Dues
 CNCA Certificate
 Original Hazardous Declaration (for Dangerous Goods)
 Cheque or Proof of Payment (EFT)
NB: Cut-off for collection of Original Bill of Lading(s), within a week of vessel sailing date or penalties
will be enforced.

10. Charges Applied by ASL
Please note penalties will be enforced for Manifest Correctors and late Acquittals of Bill of Entries and
Wharfages.

1) Carrier haulage fee per container                         R60.00

2) Telex release fee per bill of lading                      R50.00

5) Late submission of Bill of Lading Instruction Fee         $250.00
6) Manifest corrector fee Payable in Angola           $925.00 to $967.00 or more as it increases
   based on the amount of errors the Client / Receiver has done throughout the year. See below
   mentioned paragraph nr 11.
  Fee to paid in Angola by the client.
7) Meihuizen Freight Manifest Corrector Process Fee R250.00 per correction / bill of lading

Please note that this amount includes charges for re-submission per manifest and bill of lading to the Angolan
authorities, which will be charged by the ASL agent in Angola, at USD 925.00 for account of the
consignee/shipper/agent.
8) Late Acquittal penalties are imposed by the port authorities              R2000.00

9) A cancellation fee of USD 150.00 will be charged for cancellations within stack dates per TEU and USD 5.00
per w/m on break-bulk.

10) Late Collection of Original Bill of Lading(s)            $250.00 per bill of lading

11) Finance Facility Fee                                     5% of invoice value escalation on a monthly basis.

11.Cargo document requirements: as per Angolan authorities request.
Documents to be presented 72 hours in advance of vessel’s arrival at POD.
Bill of lading must mention all items packed. Packing list is needed showing contents and quantities.
All parcels under the master’s care have to be declared on a bill of lading & manifest.
Hazardous Cargo Packing Declarations required.

Bill of Lading & Manifests should always have the wording reflected “said to contain”
Local Manifest has to be completed before the vessel sails and we need to have your shipping instruction the
day after stacks close to process the work and for yourselves to check and sign off.
*Please ensure that the number of packages is reflected along with your weight and measurements on these
instructions.

Manifests are dispatched to Ports of discharge within 24 hours of vessels departure, therefore it is imperative
alterations/amendments any changes are done not later than or by vessel sail date ….to avoid Manifest
Correction Fees

 Luanda manifest correction fee increased by 450% to usd863.00
Quote from our Luanda agents:….
“Pls note that without any pre-advise we have received today some penalties from customs for manifest
corrections at a tariff which has been increased with 450% compared to the old tariff. New tariff is now KZ
69.000 (USD 863) old tariff was KZ 14800 (USD 185). Pls see below the problems which local agents are
having after applying a new tariff of USD 925,00 / correction.”.unquote
