Company Overview: Roundstone is an insurance organization focused on the development, underwriting and
servicing of alternative risk products, including captives & rent-a-captives, for specialty insurance programs. We
have locations in Ohio, South Carolina, Washington, DC and Bermuda.
Description of Product or Services you would like to promote in the Association:
Captive Program Requirements
1. Most P&C, A&H, Employee Benefits, and Surety lines.
2. Premium size starting from $1.5 million to $50 million annually, other sizes TBD.
3. Prefer “rollover” or if from scratch, then with business plan and sales strategy.
Captive Program Services - Roundstone offers Program Administrators & Managers the option to quickly and
efficiently access our captives, insurance carrier facilities and captive management services:
1. Roundstone Insurance, Ltd., a Class III Bermuda "rent-a-captive" on a direct or fronted basis writing all
lines of insurance. Reinsured or fully funded. Limits from $25,000 up to $10 million+
2. Companion Captive Insurance Company, a South Carolina sponsored Cell Company, capable of
reinsuring "A+" policies for most lines of A&H and Employee Benefits, with readily available policy issuing
capability.
3. Roundstone Insurance Company, an E&S lines carrier available in 8 states.
4. Roundstone Management - We can provide study and illustrations comparing the expenses and profit
margins of your firm's program in contrast with a captive. Our firm will provide design, analysis,
implementation and captive management services in addition to strategy sessions, accounting,
underwriting, policy issuance, compliance, regulatory, banking, investment, fronting, reinsurance and
claims services.
How does your product or service specifically target/benefit Program Administrators:
Program Administrators are specialists and managers of large blocks of business who invest large amounts of time,
capital and resources into their program’s success, which may or may not depend solely on the availability of a
single insurance carrier. They possess great expertise in their programs. Our captive programs can illustrate the
potential benefits of using a captive as part of a Program Administrators strategy to (1) enhance revenue, (2)
increase operational efficiency, and (3) increase leverage in maintaining a carrier relationship or establishing a new
one.
What differentiates your product from others in the Marketplace?
Roundstone’s captive programs save time and expense by offering our clients the choice of complete turnkey or
tailored captive program resources.
(1) Our firm specifically focuses on Program Administrators, MGA’s, agencies, brokers, and wholesalers for both
P&C and Accident & Health programs, (2) our staff is made up of insurance industry professionals who have
experience in the industry via carrier management, administration, distribution strategy, accounting, finance,
operations, agency development, reinsurance, US and offshore compliance and regulatory matters, (3) we provide
access to fronting, claims and other support services, on a bundled or unbundled platform, according to each one
of our client’s needs- each is different, (4) our firm will provide reinsurance capacity in certain cases, (5) we offer
A&H programs under a captive format with an “A+” carrier - most of our competitors don’t or can’t, and (6) our
resources represent both US and offshore capabilities.
