Thursday, December 26, Second Day in the Octave of Christmas
When they hand you over,
do not worry about how you are to speak
or what you are to say.
You will be given at that moment what you are to say.
For it will not be you who speak
but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. (Matthew 10)
Spirituality of Change Message: There is no good reason to be anxious; God
always comes through for us.
How much energy do we spend in anticipating events? Are you so filled with our
own doings that there is no room for the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts? What would
it be like to joyfully look forward to anything that might occur or happen to us,
even martyrdom? For the Christian with faith, all is possible. As St. Paul says: “In
all circumstances, give thanks for that is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
“Those who prepared for all the emergencies of life beforehand may equip
themselves at the expense of joy.” (E.M. Forster)
