                               Essential Discipline Goals

Critical:             The student will develop the ability to describe, analyze, interpret,
                      and judge art

Historical/Cultural: The student will develop an understanding of the visual arts as a
                     basic aspect of the shared ideas, beliefs, customs, and experiences
                     of a given people at a given time

Production:           The student will develop and organize knowledge, skills, ideas,
                      and feelings for expression in the creation of art

Aesthetics:           The student will develop the ability to identify, analyze, and apply
                      criteria for making visual aesthetic judgments based on the senses
                      and how they are affected
